Thanks for noticing. Haven't paid attention at all at the sponsors logos, the noses have been distracting.
It would be very unfortunate if Williams are unable to perform this year due to lack of sponsors/money. I'm really hoping for them to make some kind of comeback this year. Perhaps give my favourite mid-field FI a run for their money : ).
Also, Possibly could be them still working out final details on sponsorships since we're still in testing & maybe the cars in Melbourne will look different.

Williams will soon be announcing a BIG deal with Martini and Banco Do Brasil.

KC had tweeted about a special livery that is coming back. I guess its about Williams.

@karunchandhok
Hearing about the return of a special F1 livery that will send the fever-o-meter off the chart !! @henryhopefrost @eddstrawF1 @NobleF1

Please move if incorrect thread for this.

Confirmed!. It appears that Michael Schumacher will be slowly woken from his induced coma.
This is good news. I hope he returns to his regular normal self in time.

Guys, sorry if I have missed something from the earlier posts but can some one please throw light on as to why all these "noses" are so ugly?

I mean what is the purpose behind such designs?
Why did the teams have to so drastically change their designs rather than doing just minor tweaks to the earlier one(2013 cars were beautiful right?)?
Does it have anything to do with the new engine regulations?

Thank You in advance.

The first appearance of testing is a major event in F1.. For teams on the technical side and for sponsors on the commercial side with pictures of the cars appearing on print media across the globe. The Martini deal should have been concluded by now so should Brazilian partnerships courtesy Massa's involvement. Williams and potential sponsors have missed out on this free publicity.

Hope the deal works out and it doesn't end the Lotus way.

Gone are the golden tobacco years where sponsorship and money flowed like water.

Don't count McLaren out of the big boys group. They look good at Jerez. New boy Kevin had the fastest lap of the week so far. And between Button and Magnussen, they raked up the most laps (92) as well. Apparently the rear suspension is a work of art!

RBR continue to have packaging issues with the Renault power-train as the rear is very tight. Apparently Newey has gone back to his drawing boards. And the engine itself has not set the ground running. But knowing RBR, they are very capable of bouncing back from this. Their track record for in season development has been very good.

McLaren seems have got things right so far to get to the list of pole position contenders for Saturdays but it remains to be seen how well they can do on Sundays.

The ugly nose gives better aero performance when you have clean air upfront which works well on Saturdays but not so much on Sundays unless the car is like the 2008 Brawn in terms of relative performance.

End of the 4 day test at Jerez today.

Mercedes powered cars managed to do a total of 875 laps, Ferrari powered cars did 444 and Renault did 151.

The Merc factory team managed a scarcely believable 309 laps whereas Red Bull hit massive reliability issues and only managed to complete 21 laps.

Mercedes even managed to complete an entire race simulation on just the 4th day of the test. Unbelievable reliability for a car and with engines that are so new and with unproven untested technology.

No wonder Horner is already scouting for a double points in the last 3 races and Bernie is singing the same song of RedBull.

An article on the problems with Renault's powertrain. These guys are quite reliable!

This is big and the duration needed to fix the problem is hard to believe. Running the power unit at only 75% for the first few recess would mean nothing less than 1.5 second per lap over a race distance.

For red bull the tighter packaging is clearly compounding issues, which is unique to them and should be easier to fix.

Ross Brawn will surely be missed! Unless it's a retirement like his close friend Schumacher's first one was : P. He would be welcome back and a great addition to any team he would join should he decide to return.

Here is an article that nicely sums up the Jerez tests in that nice and clean bullet format we all love ^ _ ^:
