What about his tuitions?
Seriously, these guys are so committed from 3 or 4 years?! But their career finishes at 35.

Well! Congrats to him. But, isn't he too young to be an F1 driver? If he gets on the podium, he can't even drink from that big green bottle.

The current breed of cars are super sensitive to weight. Reason why Jenson and all looks like anorexic super models. Has that got anything to do with this?? At 18, one wouldn't weigh much. I am not feeling easy about this!

Look at the good side of it, when one normally starts moving up in his/her career around this age, these guys are already done with it.

That leaves them with more time ( and money ) to pursue a second one.

Helmut Marko has been keeping a keen eye on Max and reckons he is blisteringly quick. Marko's predictions have usually been spot on. Vettel, Ricciardo, Kvyat and now Max.

Read this in the newspaper today. Red Bull is quite confident about him, and positive that they are not making a mistake with this decision of theirs.

On another note, he is not even of the legal age to drive on public roads

It all depends on the country. If F1 would return to Max home country the Netherlands he would be fine, as you can (legally) drink from 16 onwards.

I was reading up on Max and it looks like one of the main reasons for his appointment is talent. He was a prodigy in karts: never beaten during his first three years of racing, he went on to rout his opponents at international level last season, piling up trophy after trophy. And many teams were pursuing him including Mercedes. The reason why he joined Red Bull is because none could offer him a race seat this early.

Yeah, but since there is no GP at Netherlands, Max will have to get a podium at Middle East. There, they spray a non-alcoholic rosewater drink known as Waard.

Fantastic article by Will Buxton on Max Verstappen on his blog recently. It's a good read.

Can't wait to see Max in the Toro Rosso next year, seems really promising.

Jos 'the boss' verstappen added a lot of colour to the grid in the late 90' to the early part of of 2000's. The orange arrows that he piloted towards the end of his career had good straight line speeds but was not the most reliable or best handling chassis in the grid. But that didnt really prevent Jos from mixing it with the big boys. And although he was rarely seen on the podium his ability to keep faster drivers behing him influenced the outcome of many a race.

Its amazing that Max has a got a shot at F1 this early in his career. Im sure dad Jos will play a vital role, given his vast expertise in the F1 circus, in shaping Max's f1 career

Max will take part in FP1 in Suzuka this weekend. He will be taking Jean-Eric Vergne' Toro Rosso.

Toro Rosso had been waiting on the granting of an FIA Superlicence for the Dutchman. Max completed 148 laps and 396km of Italy’s Adria Circuit to pass the 300km required for the granting of a Superlicence.

Happy 17th B'day Max! Enjoy your present.
