Well Lewis also probably didnt want #1 on his car because he just got a #44 tattoo behind his right year. :-) Kidding! This probably one of the few or the only season where there wont be a car with the #1 on it.

Reasons for Arrivabene being hired are now slowly being evident. His grasp on the sport and its workings. His influential stance with Bernie and his presence on the F1 commission for many many years. Ferrari need a guy who can sit eye to eye with people like Bernie and avail those special favours they get from the CVC and the FIA.

Also read that Mattiaci was on the wrong page with Bernie. The supremo started to isolate from Ferrari. I'm almost sure Ecclestone also was involved in getting Arrivabene into Ferrari. He certainly fits the 'Ferrari Team Principal' description. Hope he can function as well. He will need someone like Ross Brawn by his side calling the shots on the circuit and in the factory.

In Moto 1 umpteen times world champion Valentino Rossi has stayed with his beloved 46 throughout. So it is new to F1 but not to motorsport.

Jean Eric-Vergne has confirmed that he will not race for Toro Rosso for 2015. I guess this means that Carlos Sainz jr will join the Faenza based team. This could either blow up in Toro Rosso's face or we will see the birth of two or atleast 1 new star. A lot has been said about Max Verstappen and I am really keen to see if he is a real star.

Red face Re: The 2015 F1 Season

Sebastian Vettel has completed his first laps as a Ferrari driver behind the wheel of a F2012 at the Fiorano circuit.

Vettel, who wore a while helmet that had the words "My first day at Ferrari" written on it, also had the pleasure of driving a Ferrari 458 Speciale.

The car driven by Vettel was the same one he beat to the title in 2012 by three points, when he overcame Fernando Alonso.

Wow! An all rookie lineup at Toro Rosso. They've been very brave. And I think young Max will not be comfortable with another Jr. in the garage, even Kvyat for that matter. And not just any junior too, going to be fun.

And finally we have a Spaniard in the grid for 2015!

PS: Shame about Vergne not being on the grid though. He lost out big on the Alonso musical chair.

It wasn't that bad a car man! It was just not as good as the RedBull. The F12 was extremely reliable as well. And that is what helped 'nando score so many points with just next to 0 wins.

BTW McLaren still haven't declared their driver line-up right? Didn't they say 1st December? Or Ron meant 1st December 2015? Or I read wrong and only decision was to be made on 1st December and no idea of when it will become public?

It was 1st December at the earliest was reading news elsewhere (I think Sky Sports F1) that was quoting the announcement will be made by Thursday.

Going by Eric Boullier, Hamilton, Button statements the last couple of weeks, in all probability its likely to be Alonso and Magnussen.

Saw Vettel yesterday in the Ferrari driver suit (posted by Ferrari fan page on FB) and it takes "looking out of place" to a whole new level

Is it just me who can not stand seeing him as a Ferrari driver, for whatever reason it may be?

True.. 2014 was the real lemon! But in these last 5 years at Ferrari Alonso has only had the quickest car on the grid on 2-3 races.. Back in 2010!

McLaren mentioned it was not going to be announced before 1st Dec. I have no clue why it's taking so long.. Alonso deal is done as even his race engineer from Ferrari, Andrea Stella has been confirmed at McLaren. Stumped as to why the 2nd driver decision is taking so long. Not fair to Button at all.. He deserved a proper goodbye.

Mod Note: Please continue the discussion in the new thread. Thanks!

Looks like the front nose design changes are set for 2015. As part of its bankruptcy sale, Marussia's 2015 wind tunnel model(s) have been revealed. Lo' & behold, the redesigned front nose.

You can also see other changes/revisions at the source link
