With due respect to Kobayashi san, i don't think he qualifies to be the super driver what honda expect.

What about a Ferrari RBR swap ?? That looks possible too .

Guys Seb is leaving RBR and Kvyat is replacing him. So in all probability he is heading to Ferrari and Alonso to McLaren.
Unless you want Eddie Jordan's view come true ( both in McLaren) !

Now, it could be 2010 all over again for Kimi if Alonso decides not to leave.

Ferrari would need to give Vettel a seat and that might mean one more early termination of contract of Kimi!

Default The 2015 F1 Season

One of the craziest silly season. Kimi and Seb would make a good team, but will Ferrari bring some decent horse first?

Why would Alonso decide that now? It's already a done deal. Kimi is staying put in Ferrari and next 2015 contender is being built to suit him.

That it is. The silliest season got dead real! Incredible how teams and contracts work. Pre contracts and exit clauses are key.

Can't wait for next year!

With Kvyat promoted to RBR, would JEV continue at Toro Rosso or would he still be kicked out for another rookie alongside Max?

If Magnussen gets kicked out of McLaren, the Toro Rosso seat might be a good option for him unless he decides to be reserve driver for a year.

Kudos to RBR! They are giving opportunity to another driver from their junior program. Ricciardo and Kvyat will make a great team. Ferrari should take note.

Christian Horner says Ferrari have made Vettel a very attractive offer. Source

JEV is out. Max is going to drive his car on all the remaining FP1 except Russia now.

James Allen says Formula Renault 3.5 championship leader Carlos Sainz Jr. could partner Max in 2015. Considering RBR' penchant for rookies, that's a very good possibility.

Can't say what will happen at Mclaren , Ferrari , Red Bull next year performance wise. Mercedes will be on the top for sure. Exciting to see the new silly season.

I think its as good as confirmed that Alonso will leave Ferrari and Vettel will take his place. Although it isnt confirmed where Alonso will move to, in all probability it will be a mega deal with Mclaren - Honda. I dont think its safe to assume that Button will be retained, they could want to keep Magnussen since he is from the Mclaren young driver programme and give Alonso #1 status and all the backing he requires to go for a title. Kimi says he is staying put in Ferrari next year so very unlikely his seat will be vacant. I think Alonso and Ferrari have shook hands yesterday.

A very sad morning, I always dreamt Alonso being succesful with Ferrari and finally retiring from the sport after two more titles atleast.

Just posting this as confirmation of Vettel leaving RBR:

http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/95...ll-End-Of-2014

http://www.speedcafe.com/2014/10/04/...-move-ferrari/

He will be joining Ferrari. So clearly Alonso is out, unless Raikkonen gets the boot which is unlikely. I now await official announcement from McLaren regarding Alonso. This should come later today after Qualifying or latest by tomorrow on Race day.

What if its going to be three cars per team? Or, does it indicate that the 3 cars per team meets the dead end?

3 cars per team won't happen by the beginning of Australian GP next year since teams need a larger time to prepare the third car. It could happen mid season (technically, but unlikely) or in 2016 season (most likely) if F1 is indeed going in that direction. Again, by 2016, we are expecting new teams and 3 cars may not really be needed by then if those teams join the grid.

If we loose two teams this year and eccelstone doesn't get all the teams to roll with three cars doesn't this mean he looses his 100 year commercial rights deal with the FIA.

It's my understanding these are one of the terms under which he was granted those rights, 24 or 22 cars at the least on the grid.

It seems Luca Di Montezemolo is at Suzuka and will be finalizing Alonso's situation with Ferrari. There is this small chance that Vettel could be going to Mclaren and Alonso stays. Both Ferrari and Mclaren havent confirmed their driver line up. This is a very bleak chance but could happen.

Vettel informs Christian Horner last night about his decision to leave. So its quite normal to assume that Ferrari called Vettel up and asked him if he would tag along. He said yes. The rest is all formality.

I doubt the third car proposal will stand. Most teams have asked for a further 6 months to field a third car. Good chance the FIA may give the smaller teams a little extra something to continue for a year. 3 cars in 2016 may happen if Bernie is still going strong.
