Default First F1 night race confirmed for Singapore 2008!

Time for T-BHP to attack Singapore in 2008 I think! This surely would make for an awesome sight, as well as more pleasurable for all concerned as the temperatures should be a bit lower after sunset!

C'mon Sam, start planning from now!

For sure, for sure!! I will plan and get us the best deal. I hope to see many more BHPians.
And somehow I have a feeling we will have many more people this time.

I will plan. Guys start saving, Singapore is more expensive than malaysia. And we WILL go.
Ajmat, leave the sunblock, it's a night F1.

And Rtech, I do hope you'll be there this time

Yes, that's it. No smart comments and nothing funny to say. For now.

I doubt this will happen. Either the track would be lit up perfectly with powerful lights or this wont happen. I've never heard of F1 being held in the NIGHT!

edit: I read the link above fully now. I take back my words... Its sure gonna rock!

I wonder if we'll be able to see the brakes rotors go red??? seen some images of f1 and wrc cars with red hot brake rotors but never seen it in real life on an F1 car. Maybe the night time will help

The whole track can be lit up very well .. but i doubt that we will be seeing headlights on an f1 car . but the drivers will get a lotta glare with the lights and the flashes of the cameras ... so i think the helmet companies will have to design a new kind of visors like anti glare visors or sumthing ...

Man, this will be awesome for spectators and drivers alike. Primary reason being no HEAT! The Malaysian GP was a killer and left all of us parched, dry and burnt.

Even the novelty value will be pretty cool. Singapore next year it is for us.

An F1 race at night will surely be a awesome spectacle to witness. A street race under lights sounds just perfect. The first of its kind. Time to save up for 2008 I guess

F1 just gets better doesnt it?! Kudos to Bernie and co. Now i am wondering if Delhi could be lit up in similar fashion to beat the heat..what say Mrs Sheila Dixit? Or is that asking too much...

Whats more, its a street circuit ala Monaco. The drivers have asked for the best possible lighting systems to ensure safety standards. So expect near daylight lighting conditions on-track, in the pits and run-off areas.

expect more asian night races because of the following:

1. To capture prime time tv broadcasting slots in europe.
2. Beat the heat...hot & humid unlike europe.
3. We asians go to watch racing unlike europeans who are out to get a tan.

I am saving up already for Singapore!

So, it is going to happen finally. Read about this in Singapore newspapers at the time of Sepang GP.
It'll be a very different F1 experience overall.

Hey, I'm coming too. And I will bring some good sun tanning cream. Huh, it's night. I forgot.
