Default One day so many cars, ok , So many drivers !!!!

Do I call myself lucky.. Read through

After office today I went for a walk aroud the much awaited singapore grand prix track. Looking at the whole set up , I was cursing myself for not buying tickets. Looked up , Man it was Kubica cycling around the track. That gave me boost to walk furher more.

There were a bunch of force india mechanics and fisichella walking the middle around the track. I was walking further down the desolated track, two (Activa type bikes) racing each other, omg it was Barrichello and Nick Heidfeld.

What on earth is happing, I seriously dont beleive it. I have heard of people talking about seeing cars , but this was too much ina single day. It does not end here, Decided to walk back saw a golf cart in the distance hitting the curbs to take a turn.

The prancing horses within me got aggressive, the colour red made the tifosi in me jump with joy, It was none toher then the world champion himselg Kimi Raikonen.
I could not beleive this was happening. After this the track was closed for testing (No f1 cars) only the safety cars raicing around.

Well I dont have Camera here as my wife is carrying and babies are expected anytime, so fate did not give a camera to shoot the one moment in my blife. Well hopefully next year may be i should be lucky to shoot it.

Are you in Singapore now? Your location shows you are still in Bangalore. At first reading the title of the thread and your location mentioned (as Bangalore), I thought you were speaking about the test mules at our dealerships.

Back to your thread, you are the luckiest person. Have you got any autographs of the drivers atleast? You could ahve stopped them in tracks and asked them for autographs. It would have been a good and rarest collection.

Wow, you are really lucky!

As Snaronikar said, you should have got the autograph. And don't tell me, your phone does not have a camera? If not, time to get one. You never know when you might need to capture such moments!

To all going to the Sing GP, please try and walk around before qualifier, practice and find out the back entrance (usually behind the pits) where all the drivers and team personnel access the Pits/garage. If you are lucky you might be able to see the drivers and most of them oblige for autographs. I managed quite a few autographs during my last visit to Indianapolis last year.
Have a good time and enjoy the race!

what are those concrete surfaces with flower pots still doing there?!

Am sure its not just the camera eye that notices it.
Yes, its the pit garage. It was on Tuesday when i shot that. When these people can change tyres and refuel in less than 7 seconds, it should not take much time to remove those....

There are lots of work happening around the track, but it seems to be very well planned and on schedule.

Distracting lights could be because of the angle from which it was taken... it should not be a problem for the drivers.

Ishaan, i have got a cheapo walkabout tickets and would be surprised if they provide us a screen for us watch the babes.... let alone seeing them in person... if there are some good looking track side lady marshals, will try to take some snaps of them... solpa adjust maadi

Today evening we were gong around boat quay and suddenly saw few cars going round the track.. so went near the anderson bridge to have a closer look. it turned out to be the safety cars practicing on the track. I went along with a friend who has no idea of F1 and the first sight we saw was of a safety car approaching a tight turn at crazy speeds and braking as late as possible. He was scared for a moment and at the same time was amazed at how fast cars can go. Now he is very excited about practice tomorrow.

Here are few pics of today's action.

It would be really very frustrating if Star Sports did not show Singapore GP Qualifying live & expect us some idiotic club football instead. Maybe that's the reason why they're showing the free practice sessions live. I still hope & pray that there's a last minute change in programming. I still can't believe that ehy wouldn't want to be telecasting something that's historic - The very first night session of qualifying.

Thanks for the excellent pictures.
The track looks very skiddish. Wont bode well for the Ferraries.

Thanks for the pictures. Keep them coming tifosi and suman!

Check out this simulation of a lap around the Singapore track with Mark Webber as the driver/commentator.

You can catch the live telecast of the 2nd practice session at 1900 IST on Star Sports.

Not sure yet. Star Sports is showing sat practice live at 4:30 pm IST tomorrow but for qualifying they said "Check local listings". Doesn't bode well. If it is shown live, Qualifying should happen at 730 pm IST.
