Two seasons since Schumi Quit. Lets stop talking about him.

He's the Greatest and none will beat him in the future.

@anachronix:- Thanks for putting this thread back on track

I really dont understand what's happening with Force India. We see lot of off track action than on the track, wonder if 2009 also be the same or will it change.

What happened to Schumi's younger bro., i seem to have forgotten his name., is he not in the reckoning anywhere with any teams for the next season?

Exactly, talking about Schumi is totally off topic as this discussion is for season 2009.

I agree He is the Greatest, however none will beat him?
Hamilton has got a early start with a long career ahead of him. Maybe not Hamilton but there will come a driver to break his records.

With teams being almost exactly the same mix,
With the youngest F1 champ waiting to defend his title,
With Massa emerging as the new Tifosi hot favorite,
With Alonso making a late comeback last season,

I predict like others a 3 way fight between Massa, Hamilton and Alonso, with odds stacked in that order.

With such a team, betting on any team other than Ferrari to win the Constructors Championship is like flushing money down the toilet.
Ferrari:
Kimi Raikkonen - ex F1 Champion
Felipe Massa - F1 Championship runner up (by 1 point!)

Force India is now getting engines from McLaren! nice!

Also - 5 time WRC Champion Loeb is testing out the Redbul F1 in November:
Read on:

Fresh from getting out of his Citroen C4 WRC at the end of Rally Japan, newly-crowned five-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb was handed a fantastic prize for his title by Red Bull, Citroen Sport’s partner.
Red Bull Racing will give the Frenchman a chance to test one of its RB4s at the official
Formula 1 test session on 17 November in Barcelona.
Beforehand, Sébastien will go to the team’s headquarters in Milton Keynes to meet Red
Bull Racing and prepare for the 17th. He will make his first acquaintance with the car
during a preliminary test at the Silverstone circuit.
Sébastien Loeb is already eagerly anticipating this amazing experience: « I’m absolutely
delighted by this present from Red Bull to celebrate my fifth World Rally Championship
title. I already got the chance to test a Formula 1 car last year, but this time the
circumstances will be a little different. I’m now going to find myself in the midst of all
the regular F1 drivers during an official test. I just hope that I don’t make a fool of
myself! On the other hand, it’s only for one day. I’d like to clear up any speculation
about me possibly switching to F1…next year I’m definitely going to be driving a Citroen C4 WRC on the World Rally Championship

I hope the driver line up at Force India changes and the McLaren engines do make some difference. I would hate to see Force India end up like an Arrows or Minardi and in the end just fade away!

Hopefully they do end up on the podium in the 2011 Indian GP!

Vijay Mallya's Force India is possibly taking the route of a Mclaren Mercedes B Team. Although its not officially announced.

I see another Super Aguri in the making with a Force India F1 badge on it!

IMO Mallya has killed the legacy of the team by making it virtually a B Team now!

Not quite understandable. How come Ferrari engined Torro Rosso is charging on the track.

They were placed 6th this season. I am seeing them break into top 5 the next season. somehow Mr Mallya did'nt manage the ferrari tie-up.

Ralf Schumacher was his name

I hope this move of Mallya's doesn't backfire on him - an IPL kind of deja vu for him so to speak

Mallya wants a more shorter way to success in F1 by simple terms!

It would be interesting to see where Force India gets placed on the grid for 2009.

If I remember correct,Toro Rosso has only the engines from Ferrari. They have developed the rest of the car like transmission etc.
But Mallya wants everything and hence Mclaren is now supplying ForceIndia with engine \ transmission \ KERS too.

Seems Mallya doesnt trust his team to develop all that on their own.

@Anachronix:Nice pics. But where are Michael's pics?I read he too was there on the tracks with his Ferrari Fxx

McLaren man takes Force India role
Force India continues post-season revamp
10/11/08 16:03

Big changes at Force India for the '09 season

A McLaren director has been appointed in a leading role with the Force India team.

With the confirmation of Force India's technical linkup with McLaren Mercedes on Monday, it also emerged that the Silverstone-based team will receive 'operational support'.

As more details were divulged at a media event at Force India's Northamptonshire headquarters, it became clear that 46-year-old Simon Roberts, McLaren's Operations Director, will forthwith now work full-time for Force India.

Dont be surprised if the Force India team is renamed to Prodrive India!
