That's upto the authorities to decide. Rossi didn't really deserve that win. Sete was clearly ahead of him into the last turn. Circuit racing has it's limits and Rossi crossed it yesterday.

Did you see his foot come down before he hit Sete? Clearly shows that Rossi was never in control of that turn. He tried to squeeze in when there was absolutely no room for him.

I hope he gets disqualified for it. We don't want such a selfish champion.

That's an oxymoron! All the great Champion's have been willing to do whatever it took to win. Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Doohan...all of them.

Not to say that Rossi's move was totally okay though. Yes, it was a make it or break it attempt at the last corner, but then Sete should not have left that miniscule gap for him to lunge down. If it was another rider instead of Rossi who did that, he would have been excluded for sure. However, since it's Rossi, we will have to wait and see what happens.

I don't think Honda will protest that move. MotoGP is not like F1. Here things are more like they were in the pre-Eccelstone days of F1.

Whatever happens though, it's great for us sitting at home to watch some real racing!

Shantanu

these things happen in racing chill
his foot came down as he did not want to go into sete and bring him down completely

just cause sete went onto the gravel all these things
if sete had fallen the way crivell did with doohan in the late 90's (awesome race though)

Rossi will easily retain his world title no doubt about it

He is the best there is on 2 wheels on this planet

Default Motogp 2005 ....

Friends and MotoGP enthusuiasts ...
What a race we had .... YAMAHA VS HONDA ...
stuff legends are made of ... I am from old genre and Bike racing for me was the battles between Wayne Rooney, Mick Doohan and Kevin Swancz ... in MID nineties and Early nineties .. and in late ninties
then it was between Alex Criville and Mick ....

and Now its the magic of Valentino Rossi ..
I expected to see Battle between the Italians ..... Massimillano " Roman Emperor " Biaggi and Valentino " The Doctor " Rossi to emerge this year as Max finally has a factory drive that he always used to crib about ...
But Sete Gibernau has taken the battle to Rossi .... After Rossi destroyed Sete last season both on track and off track it was really good to see Sete comeback and challenge Him ....
What a race it was ... Valentino has showed why he is the best ..
and what exciting Last Two laps it was ..... I 100% support Rossi and His move was very much legitimate and a proper racing overtaking move ... though the spaniard and his supporters felt otherwise .... Rossi was already into the corner and was very much next to Sete when Sete turned in and banged into him ....
Sad for Nicky Hayden to go off from podium position ....
MAX was nowhere to challenge Rossi and finished disappointing 12th ...
Nice to see both Ducatis finish strongly .....
cannot wait for next week to see the continuation of this Battle at Assen Portugal

It was a PROPER racing move and it is 100% legitimate move .... Sete was nowher ahead of him when he turned in ....... Rossi had the racing line and he was already next to Sete when Sete turned into him and Rossi had nowhere to go but to take Sete wide ....
Finally some leg to leg racing we got to watch yesterday .... I felt sad for Nicky Hayden .. he was comfortably in third when he slid off the track and promoted another Italian Rider Melandro onto podium .... Max Biaggi was the biggest Disappointment of the race ... he always was cribbing about A GOOD DRIVE and he gets HRC ride and what does he do .... Qualify 16th and finish 11th or 12th ..... HRC must be moaning about signing him ...

Max has been the biggest disappointment in 500cc/MotoGP since he entered. He just could not gel with this class. In 250's, he was a class apart, but something happened to him in the premier class. I think he basically moans and complains about everything instead of just getting on with the business of riding. Now ofcourse it's too late for him. The Biaggi/Rossi battle we were all looking forward to just never happened.

No way. Doohan and Rossi have totally different styles of racing. However, what makes Rossi the greater rider in my eyes is that he dared to move away from Honda and into a lesser team! Doohan never took that chance. Not saying anything against him as a rider, but what Rossi did is what makes Champion's into legends.

I have absolutely no idea why my post was moved and merged into this post ...
My request to the Moderators is that MotoGP is also part of MOTORSPORT ... and that We should have one MotoGP thread wherein all the Races of Motogp are discussed in instead of creating a new one for every race ....
MOTO GP 2005 should be the thread wherein all the races of Motogp should be discussed about
please do something about that

totally agree with this fact
rossi will always be a legend for what he dared

its like asking schumacher win in mclaren or BMW
but guess they cant afford him in their team
or he is toomuch in love with ferrari

anyways ROSSI will definitely be a legend
gosh he is only 25 man

Well, MotoGP is indeed part of motorsport, hence this topic is in the "Motorsport" section.

Good idea about incorporating all the MotoGP posts of the season in 1 thread. Will work on it ASAP.
