Quite a race , considering its effect on the championship . Vettel delievered victory from pole and in the process has got a little closer to the drivers championship . But he still needs more luck and points compared to Brawn to have any hope . Brawn have all but sealed the title with a 35.5 point lead with a maximum of 36 yet to be scored.

Button just needs 4 points to beat Vettel and 6 points to beat Bari.

But he needs to be very careful for the next 2 races. One DNF and it could all change.

Its gonna be one heck of an ending to the 09 season.

Another exciting Suzuka weekend!

SC with 6 laps to go was really exciting. Vettel did dominate the Japanese GP

Happy for Kimi who got the F60 to a decent 4th considering the awful pace of the car!

What happened to the new rule that the driver with the most wins would be world champion irrespective of the points he scores - Has that been changed?

'cause if we go by that, Button has 6 wins and next is Vettel with 3. With 2 races to go, button should already be declared as the world champion! Not sure what's happening here...

That was Bernie's idea and it was not implemented as the teams were against it. Good thing too.

Interesting race but Button again manages to scrape a point. It should be pretty easy for him at this stage but we've seen the impossible happen in 2007 so its not guaranteed yet.

Not many overtaking moves today but Kovalainen on Fisichella has to be the overtake of the race. Great opportunism from him. Unfortuntely he also blew Sutil's race and that clash between them gifted Button some good luck.
