I remember reading a news article some time back that even MotoGP will be coming to BIC. It is high time India is listed in the racing sport arena.
All those who are close to the circuit are very lucky.

Looks like the progress is wonderful and finally we now have an official name to the GP, it will be called, " 2011 Formula 1 Airtel Grand Prix of India "

Airtel being the main sponsor expect good amount of marketing and perhaps some good deals and contests for Airtel clients?

Official name announced for the Indian GP.

We also have official date for the sale of tickets which will start from 20th August and anyone who wants the tickets may use the link below for ordering tickets,

Online Ticket sales from 20th August 2011

Another site where you can book tickets and hotels and flights

Lastly, Mods can we now start a new thread for this it might be a lot easier for people who directly need links etc. for the tickets rather than having to scroll all the pages?

Regards,

Is the BIC approved by F1 authorities? I do not see a * next to 2011 FORMULA 1 AIRTEL GRAND PRIX OF INDIA (stating that the circuit is subjected to approval) on 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship Race Calendar (Formula 1)

F1 tickets are currently unavailable for sale; have they mentioned the date on which sale would start?

The Tickets page on the site says one could register their email address to get early-bird rates on the tickets.

Hi All,
Are tickets available in India, We have booked our flights - need to book hotels / BB and race tickets. I was looking on the official F1 website and that just asks me to register and when tickets are available they will contact me.
Incidently it also said subject to approval on the website until recently.

^^ It could be the non grandstand ticket?
This race is going to be the 2nd cheapest F1 GP of the year (after Malaysia which is govt. backed). So this is technically the cheapest privately backed F1 race now.

Can't wait
