I really hope its Schumi, but Ferrari may take it with Alonso and here are the reasons in my opinion:
1. Ferrari started the development of the 2010 car way before any other team. Their entire resources over the last 5 races of 2009 was focused on the next year.
2. Brawn had a fantastic year because of the focus on 2009 car in 2008 itself. They had a lead in developing the car, but with a cash strapped 2009 season for Brawn (contrary to popular belief) they may have fallen behind in developing the 2010 car.

Having said that i do hope Schumi does well with Mercedes GP

My vote goes to Schumi, If he goes 2nd or 3rd, 2011 will be a sure bet.

1. Schumi
2. Alonso/Massa
3. Massa/Alonso

Cheers!

Michael's back, but Kimi's out. I quit watching F1 the day Kimi quit, now I might have to reconsider. I want Michael and Kimi in the Merc GP car, and I want to bet there will be more than seven 1-2 finishes for Merc. Ferrari, I am sorry, 2010 is not going to be your year. The Germans are going to Blitzkrig up yours.
Michael's skill, Brawn's brain. go f yourself everyone else.

Michael all the way. His tirst for winning is not over, and as he said in one of the interviews that his decision to come back was ignited by the prospects of replacing Massa for 2009 accident, I personally believe that he was not able to keep himself away from the track and pit wall involvement in the sport is not something that's going to keep him ticking.

Good Luck Michael. Your presence on track is definitely going to bring back people / viewers to F1.

Cheers.

One name i.e. Schumi
Want him to win in his comeback year with Merc even though seeing him in any other color overalls than red would be very different.

Imposible to predict.

But, Hamilton and Vettel are in the best position to win since they havn't moved to a new team. Massa maybe with the same team as well, but im not sure how fit he is after the accident (only time will tell).

Button, im not sure has the consistancy to defend his title. And unlike last year, he's got a very aggressive team mate, who will be looking to regain his lost champioship.

And ofcourse Schumacher and Alonso will always be right up there, waiting for a chance to pounce.

All in all, its gonna be one heck of a season.

Massa must be quite motivated to beat Alonso than he was to beat Kimi. He will give a fierce competition but his talent and speed is only limited. He will add excitement to the title fight and help Ferrari with the WCC than the WDC. My guess is Hamilton would be building up a lead that the others will try to catch after the first 2-3 races.

My Guess

Vettel for 2010 WDC closely fought by Schmi, hamilton and Alonso

P.S : Massa going to suffer this season as the car will be tuned for alonso's way of driving ; my 2 cents

Heart is with Schumi.

But if Alonso gets a FERRARI F2009 to even 50% to his liking, he will be ruthless, trust me guys.

+1 to that. Massa will be the unofficial No.2 at Ferrari and thats the way things work with Alonso. I am sure Luca is aware of this

+1.
Although, I have the feeling Ferrari would engineer the car to suit Alonso.

With a long list of uber-talented drivers like Schumacher, Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Kubica, etc., Massa better be numero deux and do a 'Barichello in Ferrari'.

And if by any chance F2009 is 100% to Alonso's liking, then its bye bye every other driver on grid. He will be just ruthless.

Engineering a car to Alonso's liking is one thing. Being quicker than the rest is another. I rate Hamilton higher than Alonso simply because Hamilton's raw speed is better. Alonso is rated the best is because he is consistent, not because he's quick. As Hamilton and Vettel improve their consistency to higher levels, Alonso will be eclipsed.

I appreciate golden boy's talent. But, he was served a winning Mclaren on a silver platter. And he won the WDC the second year. We've seen what happens to him with a 'shopping cart'.
Whereas Alonso's career looks like a photocopy of a certain Michael. Infact, this was the guy who won two consecutive titles and bumped the red baron into retirement.
Alonso did 2008 and 2009 on such a crappy car that Renault had to rig a race to win atleast one.

All said and done, predicting the WDC 2010 is going to be a blind gamble until we've seen atleast 3 races.

And I'm not betting.
