Michael Schumacher holds the record for the fastest lap in this circuit

Why is that your probable top 3 contenders not feature him?????

Kindly shed some light!

They seem to have too over steering car which schmi has accepted he doesn't like, he is more of under steer car person. Since there is enormous more weight in the car one can expect over steer at least in the first part of the race. Also Mercedes don't seem to have the pace of the other front runners as seen in the tests. So i didn't have him in the top three. If you want a detailed test report analysis i can Pm you. Also If one checks Force India seem too be as fast as Mercedes if not faster; so little patriotism in the contenders.

He might have the fastest lap, then the cars had at least 30 percent more down force also the second part of the track is new to everyone so that evens out some odds.

I really don't want to make any predictions right now. I will wait until the 5 red lights go out on Sunday. In the meanwhile read this - Formula 1? - The Official F1? Website

Me too glued to the live timing screen since 12:45pm.

But nice to see both the Force India cars in 1 and 7th place

Still Practice results are not indicative of tomorrows performance. Its only wait and watch scene untill the Qualifying.

Hi,

I'm surprised the McLaren's "trick" wing isn't being discussed yet !?!

Anyway, for those who're interested in that sort of thing, here's an interesting discussion that's been going on for a while.

Really shows how little the so-called F1 specialist web-sites (like PF1) really know about F1 tech, stalling indeed !

Could you explain why the stalling concept is wrong?

McLaren Snorkel: How it works Scarbsf1's Blog explains it reasonably well in terms of stalling. Of course, nobody except McLaren's engineers knows exactly what the trick is. Nonetheless, this explanation seems plausible.

Karun Chandok seems to have hydraulic problems . He hasnt got any running .

Mclarens win is really ingenious and cannot be fully copied as the all chassis have been homologated and cannot be changed . Ferrari have also got around the ban on aerodynamic wheel caps by devoloping an interesting crown/alloy wheel . While RedBull seem to have different cooling/exhaust solution . So the tech war is on !

A few hours and we should know who comes out on top .

Mercedes is looking stronger than anticipated and RedBull slower but lets wait for quali and the race !
