Thumbs up F1: Brazilian GP

It was a great qualifying yesterday and great performance by the Alonso and Fisichella who came out first to qualify, Kimi made it tough for himself by locking up in the first corner itself and lost 0.7 sec. Renault seem to match the pace of Mclarens here, so it will be a close race this time.
Here goes my prediction for the race-
1. Alonso
2. Kimi
3. Fisichella
4. Montoya

well one cannot forget the fact that the renaults might be less fuelled than the mclarens just to get that extra place on the qualifying grid..we have seen that the mclarens are quite capable of stepping on the podium even by starting at the back of the grid..so i think its advantage kimi when comes to pit stop strategy of running a heavily fuelled car barring that he gets held up quite a lot by a lousy driver..well to begin with i would like to see alonso and JPM fight it out at the 1st corner..can kimi make his way through??? all in all it will be an interesting race and whats more interesting will be to see if the homeboy rubens misfortune strikes again..whhoofff only one finish in the last 10yrs in his homerace..man who else can be more jinxed!!!! if he salvages a point in this race and comes ahead of MS im sure he will party like hes wont the race..

We can't guess the fuel loads, but Renault have a new package with new spec engine which seemed to be punchy and new aero package which might have helped. So i think it will be closer between Mclarens and Renaults than the races before. Ferrari are struggling again and Rubens can't beat schumi here with the mistake he made in quali.
Tiago's lap was very good ahead of both williams and DC, four places ahead of NK.

Yes we will have a new world champion by tonight since the new engine and aerodynamic package on the renault should deliver a 1-2 finish for alonso and fisichella,,more relevant to us in India is how Tiago is doing so much better than Karthikeyan,,also consider that Renault had such a string of suucesses with Williams in late 90s,,could the LOGAN be the surprise package of the new cars coming to India,,a debate among BHPians guessing aswe have an idea about the specs from ACI

Karthikeyan continues to suck. The guy is an embarassment and his only achievment this year has been the title of highest amount ever paid for a racing seat in f1.

The season seems to be dragging on, Alonso WDC is all but sewn up.

Despite the new aero package, the mclarens are still 0.5s quicker per lap than Renault IMO. So, over the course of the race the Mclarens could get to the top positions. These are my predicitons:
1.Montoya
2.Alonso
3.Raikkonen

But if everything goes haywire due to weather or crashes then only god knows.

PS: you guys remember 2003 Brazillian GP. Man that was hell of an interesting race.

Whatever the order maybe, Alonso has the title in his bag. It's VERY VERY tough for Kimi to win this year :(

@Deeps - I think the new engine and the areo aero package seems to be woking this time. The gap between them is not that big and actually on Saturday the Mclarens were slower.
This time most probably there won't be any rain and 2003 Brazilian GP was amazing and Fisi won the race in a Jordan

Sridhar, rain has already arrived at interlagos. But no one knows if it'll dry up by race time or even get worse. I'd love to see a 2003 type wet race. Maybe our man in the Jordan will get lucky this time.

As for the updated package, i agree that it has seemingly closed the gap to the Mp4-20 but i still maintain that Mclaren will have an almost comfortable advantage over the course of the race. But only time will tell!

that was an intriguing race..the move by JPM on fernando during the restart again earns him the title of the best restarter..mclaren 1,2 after 5 yrs..alonso finally wins the championship and overcomes fittpaldi to become the youngest DC..all in all mclaren were way ahead of the rest in racepace..good going JPM and Kimi..now with the DC out of the last two races should be fun to watch with all 3 gunning for the top step of the podium..

Finally a McLaren 1-2.....god I've been waiting for this all season.....Gr8 drive from Montoya..

Although it was a bit dampned by Alonso winning WDC....It would have been gr8 if It had got streched till Shanghai....anyway probably the next 2 races are going to be pure racing fun from JPM/Kimi & Alonso.....

You know guys....today Rossi won his Championship...so did Alonso and Wheldon is on his way to win the IRL cahmpionship......Looks like a champions day

Did you guys check the Renault team members T-Shirt...... "Schumacher Who" really funny :lol

Maybe Flavio needs a tonk on his head to remind him that it was the same Michael Schumacher who got Renault (then known as Benetton Ford) to the top of the podium after some really incipid performances by Ricardo Patrese and Co.

Good race? Naah...it was a sleeper! But the outcome was great for Mclaren and ofcourse Alonso/Renault. Also watching Schumi scrap it out in the opening laps was fun.

It's just crazy how fast those Mclaren's are in qualifying and the race.
