Default Is it WDC or WEC?

Form probably five years it has been more of a World engineers championship rather than world drivers championship,

Which ever company has the most cunning (might not be a right choice of word) engineers'; they will win,

Semi automatic gearshift, tyres that grip like crazy etc have lessened the driver errors, so the poll

There is no doubt about F1 being WEC these days!

Rubens did prove it last season

Depends on the season. Last season, it was obviously the car that let Button win. He only had to beat his teammate, and while that is an achievement, its not really a big deal. On the other hand, when two or more teams are closely matched, it really is down to the driver. 07 and 08 were both drivers showing their mettle.

I believe it to be a combination of Man & Machine. After all you cannot straight away think that Schumi or Hamilton can be equal to any one driving a formula car. But nowadays it is more of car then the driver. A schumi can loose in Force India car against Hamilton in a Ferrari.

I think it is "world Good package championship", including car, driver, pit crew, race strategy and loads of other factors.
none of the driver is so much better than rest of the grid to make a poor car (poor strategy, poor pit stops, strategy errors) win the championship, nither there is a car that will make a poor driver win the championship. there is only a fraction of difference in the whole package throughout the grid(at least top5).
To be a champion by beating the talent of whole wide world takes more than just a car or just the driver.

Rightly said. It is only once in a few years that you get the combination of the best driver + best car. As we will see this year, with Alonso wiping the floor with everyone else.

Have to agree with this completely. Unless and until the cars are similar we cant really judge how much of it is the driver and how much of it is the car thats contributing to the outcome. There's a very fine line between these two sides. So its easy for people to incline towards one for various reasons even though the truth might not be so.
