What the heck was the mechanic doing peeping into Sakon? And does the lollipop guy know what his job exactly is?

Wouldn't blame the driver. He acts on the instructions of the guy in the front and he made a blunder there. But heard that the mechanic is doing good now and is not serious.

The final shootout for the 2010 season is now set up superbly ! Couldnt be better.

A shootout for the championship between Hamilton & Webber : depends who can keep a cooler head and stay on the road.
Webber sure had a cool one & was rewarded the most valuable points of his life.

Not far behind, the trio of Alonso, Button & Vettel are set up for a battle royale and besides, anyone of them can slingshot to the lead in case the top 2 lose out as was the case today with Hamilton.

The 3 top teams in top 6 positions, 5 races to go, anything is possible !

What a beauty of a race!!

Dog fights left right and centre. Now that is what we need in F1!! A superb job by Ferrari's pit crew to give Alonso the advantage. Superb drive by alsonso; it was a treat watching the scarlet car power over the kerbs and accelerate down the straight!! And Alonso did not get too hasty and mess up things. in hind sights perhaps he could have out dragged Jenson at the start. Given jenson's bigger rear wing would this have worked?

Jenson too drove a great race soaking up the pressure from a visibily faster Alonso and making no mistakes.

Could of incidents that i liked...
1. Hulkenberg warding off Webber. Yeah cutting a corner was unsporting but to watch a rookie do what he did to Webber...wow!!
2. Seb Vettel's awesome pitting. 4rth place was grabbed literally from the air.

P.S - My 200th post!! Been a long 5 years coming.

Drive on!!
Shibu.

I too felt that was an awesome drive by someone like Vettel

If he would have cruised in the last lap, he would have finished the race without a pitstop, and that would have been

But truly, what a way to produce a 4th place from nowhere.

Alonso has got an outside chance. I think in most of the remaining tracks, Ferrari will be better than McLaren. If either Webber or Hamilton have bad races like today, Alonso can easily catch them.

These days the soft tyres are holding up quite well. He could have done the race without a pitstop, but for the regulations. Webber also had driven some long stint with soft tyres few races back.

As for his pitstop, his team did well to spot an opportunity, and got 4th instead of 8th.

^ seems you have to do at least one lap after a pitstop otherwise he might have done just that

really scary seeing the footage of the mechanic getting injured, hope he recovers fine

what a race... got to the best of the season so far! Was biting my nails all the way through the race Amazing race by Alonso, Button and Massa. Would have been perfect if Massa's pit crew worked a little faster but lovely to see Ferrari on top at Monza. Amazing race on my favourite circuit!

Vettle as always was superb.

Forza Ferrari! Tifosi was delighted

He was the radio guy and was trying to fix the broken radio on Yamamoto's car. But it was really unprofessional of the team to send the guy without even a Helmet. His overalls were the same colour as the car and without the distinguishing helmet, it would have been difficult for even the lollypop guy to notice the guy working on the car. Even in the video, the guy is not visible till he is hit by the car. Very lucky that he didn't have any serious injuries. The lollypop guy was to blame but the team was also to blame for sending that guy there without any helmet.

How in the world can Bridgestone make a 'soft' compound tire that is allowed (and able) to last 52 laps of Monza!?
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!

the entire point of bringing 2 types of compounds to a race is to mix things up
the FIA ought to seriously look into this..

the hard compound shouldnt be able to last that long!

Totally agree. Bridgestone are really doing a poor job and this isn't the first race where the softs seem to last forever. Hopefully Pirelli are taking notes.

+1 to above, even Hamilton is unable to shred the SC tyres. LOL

Overall an awesome race, Alonso's experience on the his Pit exit won him the race. It was nice to see the Tifosi's back in full force, It was an emotional sight when the Italian Anthem was playing and a sea of RED below the podium.

The Initial scarp between Alonso and Massa was heart stopping.

The Only sore point was our, 'Voice of F1' Steve Slater's yapping. All along Alonso's pit stop he was referring to Massa pitting. Wondering why STAR is sticking on with him, he should be given the boot.

Apparently Sutil was brushed by Liuzzi in the first lap, which ruined Sutil's chances.

Imagine the consequences if there was an incident between them, in Monza of all places !!!
The other heart stopper was the exit of Alonso from the pits, & managed to hold Button, to me it was Alonso at his best, a much more refined & mature driver now than ever.
He's gonna be a strong contender in Singapore, given his track record here.

God that guy annoys me so much. He keeps mistaking the cars, drivers, strategy, everything. And seems like Gary Anderson is getting inspired by him and making mistakes too. If anyone at Star Sports is listening, please fire Steve Slater and bring back Chris Goodwin. Heck, they could move Alex Yoong to the commentary role instead of wasting him back at the studio.

Dogged driving by Alonso after losing the lead. Even with literally no downforce, he hung on to Button's tail till the pitstop.

Anything more on Vettel's mysterious engine problem that cured itself?
