and Vettel wins..
Webber 2nd, Alonso 3rd and Hamilton 4th..
button officially out of championship contention.

the funny bit is, early in the season, there was a huge outcry about Ferrari's team orders and here we are , wondering why Red Bull did not use team orders..

now even if Webber wins the Abu Dhabi GP, he has to hope that Alonso comes 3rd and below in order to grab his WDC

Red-Bull pull out a stunning 1-2 but with the wrong guy at the front Alonso did well to jump the two guys in front of him and has a 8 point lead at the front of the WDC race. Also did a very good move on Hulk for the third place.

Massa unlucky to make the second pitstop for his front tire. But he is unable to overtake cars if they are not significantly slower than his. Another race weekend where he has failed to perform to his potential.

Schumi once again overtook Button and did a solid race to come home 7th.

Next week will be a test of Horner's intergrity if Vettel leads the race and Webber is second followed by Alonso. The world will know what he is and will be interesting to see him perform on the big stage at Abu-Dhabi.

Vamos Alonso:-)

Well, not the cliffhanger that we had hoped for, but one that sets up the final race in a weeks time. Webber will have to grab the Spanish bull by the horns and beat his team mate in a straight fight if he hopes to win the title! That is how championships are won.

Vettel will not move over easily, as a DNF for Alonso would mean that Vettel can still win the championship if he wins the race in Abu Dhabi and Webber finishes second.

In all likelihood, Ferrari are going to finish 3rd in the constructors championship. Finishing behind arch rivals Mclaren will hurt them. It makes you wonder how long Massa will be persisted with. Now that the Brazilian GP is over, one can expect rumour mills to be working overtime in the F1 paddock.

Red Bull Racing truly deserve the constructors trophy this season. Their cars clearly outclassed the opposition. Another feather in Adrian Newey's cap!!

They have triumphed where a racing driver (Jackie Stewart) as Stewart Racing, a motor company (Ford as Jaguar Racing) failed. Took an energy drinks guy to deliver eh!!

And Newey has won constructors titles at all the teams he has been with, starting with Williams in 1993 and on to Mclaren before RBR.

Nico Hulkenberg was a thorn in Ferrari's side for the opening few laps sticking around long enough to mess up any chances of them challenging the RBRs. As Alonso remarked during the press conference - they in in the wrong places at the right times - during the safety car period as well!!

Vettel drove a great race - the way he opens up a gap after the safety car goes off the track is simply suberb. I hope he or Alonso gets the title this time. They are the pick of the lot.

Quote:
I feel Massa should first think about gaining his lost form than play a second fiddle to Alonso, its better for him that way in his homeground.

And yes, Schumi sure seems to have gained his touch Only 2011 and his new car can tell.

My only sad feeling is Force India. On how they lost being the front runners mid season.
Personally, my opinion of Massa as a racing driver was never all that great. To me, he lacks that ability to grab results and scrap with other drivers in a dog fight. He is either sulking or over does it. He should know when to push and when to be patient and when to seek the help of your team (Alonso in the German GP - "team orders"). But you first make a case out for yourself as Alonso clearly did this season.

Waiting for 2011 to see what the Ross - Schumy partnership is going to throw up.

True, Force India looked to be a dominant force so much so that it seemed that Fisi has made the wrong move leaving them. Mallaya losing interest?? . However it is interesting to note that they always had they end of the year slumps - last year it was a similar story as well.

Anyway is Yas Marina folks - where the 2010 show goes down to the proverbial wire!! And a final year of seeing the Potenza's in F1 - bragging rights now goes to the guys who have Pirelli's on their car!!

Oh..and the Braskem grid girls at Interlagos were the pick of the 2010 season!!

Drive on,
Shibu.

Congratulations to the RedBull team for the Constructor Championship! A well deserved one and there was no other team through the whole season to challenge them.

Did anyone miss this part? Michael allowing Rosberg to overtake him since Rosberg had fresh tires and could possibly challenge Button.

The boring Yas Marina circuit is going to have an action packed 3 way fight for the title? Awesome!

Scenario at Abu Dhabi

Alonso can win the driver's championship, if he finishes second or wins the race regardless of what others manage. If anyone other than Webber wins the race, he needs a finish in fourth place or higher.

As Alonso has five race wins and Vettel and Webber have four each, the following holds for other drivers:

If Vettel wins the race, Alonso has to finish sixth or lower for him to win the championship; if Alonso finishes fifth, he and Alonso will be matched both in points and wins, don't know rule for that. Even if Webber finishes second, he will match Vettel's points, but Vettel will win the championship, because of more wins.

If Webber wins the race, Alonso has to finish third or lower for him to win the championship.

If Hamilton wins the race, to win the championship, Alonso must fail to finish the race, Webber must finish no higher than 6th and Vettel must finish no higher than third. In other words, he only has an outside chance.

If the finish is like Brazil, Vettel 1st, Webber second and Alonso third, the interest will center on team orders, as that finish order ensures Alonso's win, while Webber moving to first and Vettel second, will give Webber the championship.

How many of you noticed Alonso saying "Unkelberg" instead of 'Hulkenberg'?

If both the drivers are tied on points then they look at no. of wins. If they are both tied on this as well, then they start looking at the no. of 2nd place finishes, 3rd place finishes and so on.

There is a nice calculator in this site, where you can try different scenarios
http://www.marca.com/2010/11/02/mult...288693841.html

If all 3 end up with same points (256), then Vettel will win because of more wins and 4th place finishes

Glory for Red Bull! 2010 Constructors Champions!
What an awesome result for Red Bull Racing . Adrain Newey has done it yet again. To achieve so much in so less time is commendable.

Alonso has already begun the mind games by saying " Red Bull should practice what they preach " . I guess Red Bull will have to let the car do the talking . Hoping that they dont have to indulge in this dirty business which Alonso and Ferrari have clearly perfected .

The Final countdown for the WDC begins . Cannot wait for Race Day Abu Dhabi!
