Complete F1-live article

With so many driver changes... Toyota sure is going the trial and error way, eh? Hope they have some driver stability soon.

I remember Da Matta as being highly rated, even by Montoya. Who can forget that Australian qualifying lap where he almost took pole?

Thats a rather strange and sudden move.

You are right GTO that Cristiano Da Matta was higly rated, and why montoya spoke of him so high was because he was a compatriot of his at CART. Infact he'd won the 02 CART series before heading to Toyota-F1. And never did i ever think him to be underrated or an underperformer. The lack of a good car was the prime reason why he couldn't exploit the car to its full potential. Of course, Toyota can take an excuse from that since they are relatively new to F-1. I hope Toyota sticks to a lineup and develops a team around it.

think some drivers just cant make it in F1..
Jos Verstappen for example.. won everything in sight till he got to F1..
and then he spent his entire career driving for 3rd grade teams..

to be fair i dont think he did badly.. he has outqualified and out raced panis on a few occasions..
bad luck i guess
