Default 1st revv!

Hi fellow autoholics!

Nice to be a part of the forum, though the review section has been something I have frequented for quite some time now.

Anyways, I am a product designer by profession. I live in Mumbai.
I have always been interested in the exterior of the vehicle, the form, the lines, the detailing and the whole emotion it conveys through its form. I am zilch from the inside . Hoping to learn from u guys.

I am a huge fan of Jeremy Clarkson and his hooliganisms! The polar special being my fav episode.

and Oh, I just booked the Brio!

thx!

PS: Awesome work GTO and Anshuman on the Brio review. Was instrumental in my booking the car

Hi!

Congrats on the Brio and welcome to the forum.

We've got a thread on the forum entirely dedicated to rightly criticizing exterior of vehicles. Check this out. You can find all kinds of body modifications, accessory lights, alloys, and paint jobs on that thread. A word of warning though - don't read at while at your office desk as it will leave you rolling on the floor laughing.

BTW, when are you getting the Brio delivered? Planning any accessories for it yet?

Thanks man! and yes, will check out the thread.

redg the delivery, there is no concrete date yet. 10-12 weeks is what was said.
Regd the accessories, planning to leave the car vanilla for a bit , though I am thinking weather the side protectors may be necessary.

I have crazy drivers brushing their cars against mine every week so I'd say go get them. You will be rear-ended by 2-wheelers but it's nothing to worry about. The front is almost always safe. For the sides, you can get a set of rubber strips. You may need really thick ones to cover the areas that other cars can knock into. Car bodies are usually covex and come at various heights so a single strip won't be enough. You only need the side protectors to last for a few months after which you won't be as upset with the damage as you would when driving it home from the showroom.

Just today, a guy was looking at Mahim and driving toward Matunga (for you Mumbai folk, no, he didn't have squint; he just wasn't looking at where he was going or rather he wasn't looking at what he was crashing into). He drove right into my rear bumper. Being the flexible plastic that it is, no paint loss and no dents. I'm pretty sure I'll see some Mahim-Matunga/Vasai-Virar driving style in another week; I'm done with this week's quota.

The worst of the lot was when a white Toyota Corolla was going kamikazee into my side and wouldn't stop even after honking and after brushing against my car for a whole 2 seconds. It must've been a drunk driver. It chipped the paint but isn't something I need to attend to right away as the lower layer of paint is still on. Maruti may be infamous for the thin sheet metal but surprisingly I didn't have any damage other than that to the paint job.
