Default Another Bangalorean returns home!

Hello All,

My name is Richard Hed. You can call me Dick (as in Dick Cheney, maybe?)

I got approved to become a member on my first attempt. I didn't know it was a big deal until I visited the "Introduce Yourself" section. So, moderators - thank you, sincerely!

This makes me happier than the day I got a "consolation prize" (or was it "consolation proze")) for story writing contest in Grade 4. Psst...my wife may diasgree - she would point out to the day we..ahem..got married and stuff but, whatever.

R2Ied from US after a decade. Drove a beaten-up Corolla in Grad School and then graduated to a slightly-less beaten up Corolla when I started working. Upgraed to a new Nissan Altima but, somehow it wasn't me.

Then, finally bought a Subaru Forester 2.5XT (Turbo) a few years later and loved driving every single mile. Thankfully, the wife loves road trips too. We calculated - we covered an average of 22K miles a year past 3 years driving stateside.

I'm a huge NFL & NBA fan and still follow the league and my favorite teams regularly. Will start a thread on NBA players with their brief bios and the cars they own. Please watch this space...

Now that we've moved back to my hometown Bangalore. I'm first planning to buy an Hyundai i20 or a Verna for commuting/drives for the four of us (mom, dad, wife & I).

Here's hoping that I get it done and share my initial ownership review soon.

Thanks again for the membership Team BHP. I hope to contribute positively.
Oh BTW - Wanna hear that consolation prize story? No?

Welcome Dick. That's a pretty interesting introduction and look forward to the thread on NBA player's rides.

Do make a quick pit-stop to the rules section before you embark on the forum.

Have a great stay here and see you around !!!

On the consolation prize on grade 4, did you write something up on cars or driving? I did, i believe it was an essay on what i want to be and i wanted to be a driver after watching Himalayan rally and Mitsubishi been driven there. Do share!

That is very similar to my profile. Your usage of the term R2Ied makes me wonder whether you were part of the R2Iclub forum. I used to be long term member of that forum.

Samurai - thanks for your welcome and maybe we're "brothers from another mother", eh?!

I was not a member of R2IClubForum but, have heard a lot about it. I went and took a look at it after reading your message; it sure is a very helpful site/community for folks returning to India. My move back was simpler as it was an intra-company transfer...

PS: Love the CJ340!
