Hello everyone,

It's great to be joining this forum as an auto enthusiast. I have been living in Texas for quite a few years but will be returning to Hyderabad more frequently starting this year due to my kids. Will be traveling to Hyderabad when they have school vacations here in Texas. So , maybe 3 months a year from now on !

There are quite a few auto forums in the US and was not sure where to start regarding India when I found this forum online. Was very informative and helpful.

Currently , have a Maruti Ertiga that my parents use in Hyderabad. They bought it anticipating kids coming to India often. We have a driver who drives it. I am a great believer n Automatics. Haven't driven manual in a long long time. 20 years back - a Maruti 800 - that was the last manual !

I am an avid auto enthusiast and was thrilled that we have an auto forum for India . Cheers ! I am planning to buy an automatic/AMT for me to drive when I visit in June. Will post in the corresponding forums regarding the same. Any any queries regarding the auto scene in the US - please do not hesitate to ask .

Thanks to all for the welcome replies. Appreciate it. In response to the queries :

1. I live in Lubbock,Texas. Used to stay previously in Dallas but have been in Lubbock for a long time now.

2. Am a complete die hard Lexus/Toyota fan ! Their reliability has been bullet proof. We have both Lexus and Toyota vehicles that we drive.

3. Thanks or the US vehicle subthread suggestion. I have been looking at that for quite a bit of time before joining this forum.

4. Will be good to be back in Hyderabad for an extended period of time. And yes, it's good to see lots of choices for AMT's nowadays unlike just a few years ago. I have just started the hunt for an AMT car to buy.

5. One thing I can tell you - it's so much easier buying a car in the US compared to India !!
