Default Hello motorheads

Hi everyone and wish you a very Happy 2015, filled with safe driving and far travels. I hope to make some new friends in the coming year through T-BHP.

I live in Mumbai and work in the financial services industry, have been driving here for 13 years now. Currently drive a VW Jetta Diesel and a Renault Duster. German engineering and French faking, if you ask me. (Just joking, Duster is not all that bad, as long as you don't compare it to the Jetta.) On this forum, I won't mention cycles!

Like to travel both in India and outside, wife likes to do a spot of birdwatching and kids like to be anywhere but home.

Look forward to some fun conversation.

Mukund

Hi Mukund,

Welcome to the Team-BHP Community.

I am in love with the Volkswagen Jetta, especially the older model. I know that a lot of people compared its face to that of the Tata Indica's but step inside the cabin and the quality and its solidity blows you away. Have driven the older 110 PS Jetta extensively and till date, there is no car <30L that can be compared to the Jetta when it comes to driving dynamics or sheer quality.

I forgot to ask whether you have the older Jetta or the newer one I was a little disappointed with the newer one but then if there was a car that I had to choose in that segment, there would be no second option. It still is a driver's car and is well-built inside-out, has good interior space and is fairly well-kitted too. Congrats for owning one of the best sedans available in India today

I have the newer one. The best part for me is the engine refinement and the aerodynamics and balance.

Hey there Brother!
Welcome aboard. The Jetta's a beast, and yes I must say that your tag "German engineering and French faking" gave me a good laugh but then again rightly said both cars are leads in their own respective classes.

Since you love travelling, we are having a mega Maharashtra meet in the coming days. Do check out the Team-Bhp meet section. Would love to meet up and drive alongside that powerhouse of your's . Until then.

Cheers!
Starfire.
