Smile Road-Trip Enthusiast

Hello everyone!

Thanks for adding me on here, I'm mighty pleased!

My name is Pradeep and I'm from Bangalore (or Bengaluru) as it is called now. I'm a biker turned car-monger. I had to give up riding Birdy (my 2006 R.E Thunderbird) due to spondylosis.

I currently own a Tata Zest XT (Revotron) which I purchased about six months ago after selling my 2006 Wagon R LXi.

As the title says, I'm a road-trip enthusiast. I often say that if someone could just pay my rent, EMIs and for fuel, I'd just drive and get lost. When I am on the open highway, going at speeds that I wouldn’t dream of going in the city on weekdays, I feel free – the freest man in the world. I make it a point to do one long drive every month.

My idea of the road-trip of a lifetime would be covering the circumference of our country. I will probably start from Chennai (my native city) and head north, hopefully riding along the coastline and then the border regions while circumferencing our country.

I will try and capture my rides in words and images and post them on this forum and maybe I can give some tips (based on whatever little I know).

Again, thanks for having me here!

Ride safe, amigos!

Nice to see folks with wanderlust. You have lots of places and terrains to take off around Bangalore. You should not let any weekend go waste!

And do get a good GPS (A Garmin) to track your drives and keep a log of them.

Welcome again

It's a long story. My nick on IRC (about 15 years ago) used to be silly_wabbit. That became Wabbster and has stuck with me ever since. Doesn't mean anything.

Reminds me of a line I read recently. If travelling was free, you'd never see me again!

Looking forward to your trip reports.
