Hi
Iam Sgmuser from the island of Borneo, South East Asia. Iam working here and a car crazy guy! Closely watching and following the Indian automobile industry as well...

At work driving a Corolla 1.6 (yeah not so adventurous, I know...) and have a 1.5 sunny as well (surely a better product than Corolla). Always use semi-synthetic Castrol Magnatec. Makes lots of difference man! Try it out yourself!

At home bought a santro for my dad as its a more matured modern car than Suzuki's.

Like long drives. Everyweek drives atleast 400 to 500 km (petrol is very cheap here...just 51 cents per lit which is around 15rs!). People say although i am fast but still sensible.

Trying to get a 4WD soon here. At home looking for Accent CRDi. Because of the crazy fuel prices, Iam forced to buy this Diesel. Also, the CRDi is far better in vibration and noise nowadays.

Thats all from me...

Hi Sgmuser

Welcome to the Team-BHP. Regular common rails are better in refinement now, but NOT the Accent 3 cylinder CRDi machine. I dont know if it is already offered at your end, but look for the 4 cylinder CRDi on the new Accent.

Hi GTO
Thanks! I am looking for a second hand Accent CRDi. I am not comfortable trying the Verna CRDi as it is in-house developed by Hyundai. Not sure how far it is proven. Thought I would pick the proven Detroit Diesel fitted Accent Viva CRDi or CRDi for around 5 lakhs with less than 40k mileage. As this is for my dad who travels less than say 100km per month! Give me pls ur suggestions as well. Currently he is having a 2002 Santro, that does its job well.

sgmuser;welcome to tbhp

whynt get a petrol sedan. 100kms a month and diesel? Get a petrol sedan and get a cng/lpg kit.

The Verna's wouldbe CRDi engine is rumoured to be super silent (for a diesel)even at idle and its made in collaboration with AVL.

Hey bro,
welcome aboard and enjoy your stay here.
For 100kms/month, a used OHC would make better sense as the petrol bill per month would be less then Rs500.
Cheers
