Hi,
I'm Mohan Sinha.
I've been living in Pune for a most of my life.
I'm with a US-based software company as Director.
Before I floundered into IT, I was with the print media for 20 years.
I'm been married for 13 years, with a 11 year-old son. My wife is a manager with the largest hospitality chain in Pune. My son, like all 11 year-olds is a brat, whose entire day, from the time he gets up, till the time he goes to bed, revolves around WWE. Studies are somehere on the fringe. How he manages to get 80 % is something I haven't figured out yet.
I have two cars, a Maruti 800 AC, and a Swift.
When I bought the Swift I made it clear to the car dealer, that besides power steering and AC, all I need is a good music system to listen to my CDs. I have that!

Now all I need is some absolutely LATEST information on the state of NH 17, specifically around Mangalore and NH 4 before and after Chitradurga..

Here I'm trying to get him off the WWE habit, and here you go on about John Cena or whoever.
I am trying to get him interested in soccer, cricket and cars. Let's hope it works...He seems to quite like Mercs.

Perhaps this query should be moved to appropriate section? Anyway, I recently drove from BLR to Pune.

* BLR - Chitraduraga (~200 kms) road is 4-lane, completed and excellent

* Chitradurga - Haveri (~ 150 kms), road is mostly 2-lane, lot of deviations. Road condition is generally good, but absence of 4-lane with clear markers is a deterrent for high speeds

* chitradurga onwards, road is again 4-laned, completed and excellent.

Welcome !! I have just come back from Mangalore. Though I travelled by a Volvo bus, I can say that the NH17 road condition around Mangalore has improved drastically. Except for some incomplete flyover projects, there arent any bad stretches of road, atleast till Ankola.

Dunno whats the connection between Chitradurga and NH17 though. Bit puzzled. If you are travelling from Pune to Mangalore, you would get off NH4 well before Chitradurga.
