Smile I am BHPian!!

Dear BHPians,

Finally I became a proud member of Team-BHP. Thanks to mods for letting me in.

About Me:
I am basically from Kerala, working in bangalore as project Lead for a Software firm since 7 years. Myself, lovely wife, little 8 months cutie and thus my home in bangalore.

About Machines:
Wow, the superb machine I have seen is my myself(Not just me, you too)!!. What a great design, what a great innovation!. Sometimes I surprised that, why he could perfectly made only two models of it. Do you think so!?

Okay, now about cars - I own Maruti 800 since 6 years and going to upgrade to Swift. Yes the much talked Swift VDI.

Why Team-BHP:
This is a great place, where one finds lots of Gurus, well specialised in many streams due to experience that we can not easily get anywhere else.

When I planned to buy one more car(I cant say bye to my M800(Friends call M 800, I call 8 Series), as usual the much thought about factor was which brand to go for. I am greatful to all BHPians, who spent their time posting experience and thus deciding my second car.

Why Swift Diesel:

The following points made be to book Swift
  • I felt the car very responsive while in Test drive(No comparison to petrol engines though)
  • I do long drives especially through high ways very often(I drive up & down to Kerala(550KM) from Bangalore in my '8 Series'). I need a powerful\with good AC\comparatively better Ride Quality\Good FE, Order BY priority mentioned.
  • Good feedback from BHPians(My only apprehension is how to handle Rattles)
  • Nice Looks.
  • At some point I thought of going of Fiat-Punto(Dejected by poor customer service & poor test drive experience)
Where I am Now:
Booked Swift VDI+ABS, on Aug 10th 2009 at RNS, Bangalore. Dealer commited to give it in 60 days. Week back got a call from my executive and asked whether I wanna go for one without ABS version. I decided to wait for few more days considering the safety advantages of ABS.

Had taken 3 Lac Loan from HDFC @ 10% after lot many negotiation calls.

Any Idea, what is the current waiting period for Swift VDI+ABS in bangalore?

Thanks once again to all BHPians, really appreciate you, good job and keep going.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! I own a Swift VDi with ABS and you will never regret the decision. I dont find much rattling in my car [its done 18K kms so far] and I do drive to Kerala from Bangalore. You made a wise decision by choosing to wait for the ABS version. I congratulate myself for waiting for the ABS version [128 days of wait time in kerala - booked on June 10, 2008]. One suggestion from my side will be to change the tyres as soon as you get your car, atleast to 185 profile. Wishing you a speedy delivery of your baby and years of happy & safe motoring!
