Smile Greetings from Kalpakkam!

Hi guys (and gals)!
I am a newbie here. I am 45, work for the Government (Atomic Energy Department), live in Kalpakkam DAE township, ~70 km from Chennai. Love driving, writing, reading, music, yoga. I drive a Palio 1.6; earlier had a Palio ELX. Education up to Masters (Physics) in Madurai, Ph.D. from IIT Madras; now a middle level Scientist at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research. I will write a separate post on my recent purchase of Palio, etc. I am happy to be here in this forum.

Cheers,
Ravi.

Smile Reply from Ravi

Hi guys,
Thanks for your welcome replies.
@Rajesh, yes, I am a member of PUG (one of the oldest members, joined in the year 2002). I sold my ELX in 2007 after driving it for 5.5 years and went to the US on a 'Sabbatical'; returned and bought a Palio 1.6 (~1.5 years old). I guess most Palio users become ~addicted to it; it is arguably the safest car in its price range, a pleasure to drive, though it suffers from a poor image because of several factors. I will start a separate thread discussing my experience with ELX and 1.6. Recently I purchased a MapMyIndia navigator and I will post about that too in the new thread.

Cheers,
Ravi

Ok. I am not too active in PUG (since I don't own a Fiat Car), but am familiar with the posts and the 'posters'.

Will look forward to your posts regarding the Palios and the Navigator!

Ravi, welcome to TBHP.

I had visited the Kalpakkam Atomic Energy center as part of a visit from college. Needless to say, the sheer size of it all was amazing.

Looking forward to your contributions to the forum.

PUG stands for Palio Users Group on yahoogroups, IIRC.
