Formal Intro- Viper

Hey Guys,

Most of you guys who know me only know of me as an automobile enthusiast, I am now disclosing my other side.

I happen to be the Sole Distributor for India, Pakistan and the Middle East for the following brands.

1> Directed Electronics Inc. - Manufacturers of brands like Viper, Clifford, Hornet, Avital Security Systems to name a few and Audio brands such as a/d/s, ORION, Precision Power, Directed Audio etc.

2> Earthquake Sound Corporation.

I was very actively marketing the same in Mumbai alone since 1997 and have kind of stopped imports since 2001 due to very little or no demand. Spent a hell lot on advertising and creating awareness but the shop owners could not digest a product beyond the regular Pioneer, Sony etc.

My Esteem was fitted with the following audio system in 1997 other than the engine mods.

Head Units - Alpine 7638 + CHS 605 + 7939E
System Control Monitor - Alpine CVA 1000
DSP - ERA - Alpine G320
D/A Convertor - a/d/s i-datM
Front Speakers - a/d/s 336is
Rear Speakers - a/d/s 336is
Subwoofers - 2Nos a/d/s rs12DV
Amps - 1 a/d/s P440 80x4 WRMS for the front , 1 ORION XTR 450 50x4 WRMS for the rear & Earthquake 200DHC(digital) 1000x2 WRMS for the subs.
Interconnects - Kimber Kable - Silver Streak
Speaker Wire - Kimber Kable - 4TC all around
Optical Cable for D/A - Kimber Kable - OPT1
DEI Audio Capacitors - 2 nos 1.5 Farad digital
Alternator - Bosch 85 amps
Battery - Exide 80amps

Hence I deviated into my next passion that is engine mods. I import a lot of stuff related to performance and also undertake modification jobs. Though I am not technically qualified I get the jobs executed by some of the best people in the trade.

Nice to see you finally came out of the closet. :-) Thats a very nice system (especially for 1997). I had seen your ads back in the day and yes, I know what you mean by the market conditions... trust me, things havent changed much.. but thats what we're trying to achieve, right?

Gee.. All that A/D/S stuff is from when they were at their peak. The fact that A/D/S has now gotten lost in the american car av mediocrity spells a loss for us audiophiles. Those 336is are supposed to be very nice. As are all your other components. Hold on to them as most of these brands are now just marketing companies who re-brand stuff outa china and this stuff is from their golden years.

Hey Sam,

That was a different system for a different car. That was for a New Honda City I installed. And yes the problem was sorted as diagnoised by you thank you very much. Did not have your number to call and thank you.

well I had fabricated a car CD player in 1986-7. and now you guys know why i am not professionaly involved in audio. few companies manage to turn a profit on a consistent basis.
