Default Old petrol-head - new member

Hello all Team-BHPians,

This is Ravi from Delhi, a petrol-head who started his adventures with a Yamaha Rx135 a few years back.

Later, though I bought a Santro, still kept my bike for that occasional burst of dare-devilry

Recently bought a new Honday City ZX VTEC. Have posted a review of the same in the below thread - hope you find it interesting.
The VTEC strikes back !!

Looking forward to more engaging interactions with all petrol-heads here.

Cheers,
Ravi Malhotra

Thumbs up Howdy Vtech Champ !!!!

hi there Ravi ,
Welcome to Team BHP . I am glad that you enlisted to this forum. The write up about the VTECH is superb , however the old Vtech is the king. The shape is the only thing which is holding me back . some how could never come to terms with it. I in one of dreams even compared it to the Zen Classic .

But on the whole its a great car.

Congrats on your new car. and welcome once again to the right place "Team BHP .
Looking forward to some more intresting reviews from your side.

Default thanks, guys

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the great response for my initial post.

By now I have gone through a number of threads in this site, and I must say - there is some really high octane petrol in lot of these heads .

Somehow, I cant bring myself to compare these two. IMHO, the OHC vtec is like a legendary master, whereas the NHC vtec is like a very worthy disciple, sharing the same 'vtec' school of thought.

Sort of "old-legend" vs "new-kid-in-town".

Cheers
Ravi

Thats very intellectually put I can say.........awesome.

Dude you will find vtec fanatics over here like no mans business!!! Im just another guy in it. Well, firstly a warm welcome to the forum and I must ask you to to go through the forum rules to relish this forum to the max.

Loved your writeup on ZX, realy nice. New vtec is a car which has just learned to behave itself in comparison to the old one I can say . ZX is a nice looking car, with excellent mannerism(aerodynamic) and bloody short gearing, no surprise its faster through gears when compared to its predecessor. Its a sheep in wolf's clothing...........not to forget the soul!!!

p.s: read my signature, now thats how dirty a vtec guy can get.

Errr - did you mean a wolf (VTEC) in sheeps (NHC) clothing ??
Coz I definitely feel like howling when the engine starts to roar

You're damn right, I do. Brings out fond old memories of blazing past the streets with just a mere twist of the throttle. Still have it with me - and it is way better than the 4-stroke wonders of today.

Though I liked the RX-100 better

I badly want to post pics but my digicam has gone for a toss - will have to borrow from somebody and take some snaps.
Have a few snaps on my cell though - but are not great quality - will post anyways.

Dont need to change the sound-system though - am more than happy with the stock alpine system - though upgradation to 15" alloys should be the next step, once i recover from the initial financial blow
