Hello all, Eric from Wichita here. I've been doing a lot of reading on the site here because I've been seriously contemplating moving to India in the near future and am curious to know of the antique car scene over there as well as the availability of decent paying jobs in the automotive business. I'm 35 now (tomorrow, actually) and I own two Packards, a 1948 coupe and a 1936 Speedster built from spare Packards I've collected. I found this forum through an internet search and this would be the place to ask about jobs and the car scene, so any help you can give would be a great help!

Welcome to the forum Eric. Great to see someone from Kansas. I studied at K-State manhattan and have fond memories from there. It would be easier to answer questions about jobs scene if we know the kind of work that you are looking for. Design? Manufacturing? Sales?

For your other question on antiques, there are others here on the forum, who will be more than happy to share the knowledge

Welcome again

I guess I should have explained the job thing better! What I'd be looking for is something automotive, I've pretty much done it all. Mechanic work, restoration, auto parts sales, heck at one time I even sold appliances! I'm not too picky as long as the pay is decent.

Welcome! Chennai, Detriot of India, should be your destination for an Automotive job with the right qualification. I have had 2 resumes passed through me of international candidates who made it to Chennai. Also get in touch with distinguished bhpian @karlosdeville on this forum for more on the antique car scene and Packards.
Have a pleasant stay here.

Thanks for the lead Prince! Oh, and I forgot to mention neon_daytona that I know Manhattan Kansas rather well, spent quite a few weekends in Aggieville doing things I still don't regret!
