http://www.safaridicor.com/warranty/warranty.asp

they say that the 18 months warranty applies to parts made by tata. AC etc., are NOT covered
Quote:
As for such parts as tyres, batteries, transfer case, rubber parts, electrical equipment and fuel injection equipment, power steering equipment, A.C. equipment not manufactured by us but supplied by other parties, this warranty shall not apply. However we will assist the purchaser in taking up the complaint with the respective manufacturers and their decision on the warranty will be final.
So if your Fuel injection rail goes kaput, tata will call up delphi and ask them to assist you.

Please read my 10k and 20k kms reports - it says specifically that A/c was replaced/repaired by Subros, Starter Motor by TVS, checks on the security system were done by Minda etc.

This does not mean that you have to go to the respective manufacturers - you take the car to the Service Centre and they co-ordinate with the engineers of the respective manufacturers to ensure replacement / repair. Again it does not mean that you have to go back to the dealer who sold you the vehicle - my a/c condensor fan was replaced by Prerna in Bangalore in co-ordination with Subros in Bangalore. The normal customer does not see the 2nd leg - its only pesky guys like us who ask for the exact details and find out.

Interestingly, I have not had to replace any part made by Tata.

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and I have a few questions, answers to which I would really appreciate from all of you and the specially distinguished Steeroid.
Q1. From where and how can I get a second AC fitted in the Safari Dicor LX 4x2, in Mumbai?
Q2. The cost of getting it done in Mumbai.
Q3. Am getting a fully loaded Nov 05 Safari Lx4x2 for Rs.6.55, it has done 8500 kms, has alloys, music system, teflon coating, films on all the glass,LCD TV, VCD player.Do yo think I am paying more? I think I am paying just right.
Lets have your opinion on this ASAP please.
Regards,
Scorpindio

Thats true.. My Dicor was called in by the Tata team at the end of August.. I was told that they worked on the clutch and the brake booster pumps..
Sad thing was I had to sell it a week after....

Its a Dicor, right? You could probably negotiate a bit more on it.. A new one will cost you around 7.5 in Mumbai with the accessories, etc., I think..

Unhappy Issue with Reversing

When I reverse the Dicor 4x2, a stale smell is observed. This does not happen when I touch even 3k rpm during forward motion, has any one else observed this. The Dicor has done about 2500kms.

Probably because your windows are down and diesel fumes are entering the car.

Thanks bro, ill check with my dealer if the colour is readily available. Well as per my knowledge he had only these three colours: Black, Silver and Golden. He said it wud take another 20 days for him to deliver colours other than the above mentioned.

Thanks again
