My 1000'th post.Decided to post it on my oldie's thread. It was because of this car that i got hooked to team bhp.I still remember searching for info on sports exhaust for the 800 , thats when i found out about team bhp. That was about 5 years ago.I guess it took me that long to reach the 1000 post mark :-)

About the car,it's now 15 years old.FC coming up mostly next month or at most in july. The wipers still need fixing which would put additional burden.I am not really sure how long i would be holding on to this car with rising fuel petrol prices it's going to be diffcult to manage 2 petrol driven cars though i just fill up 100-300 bucks worth of fuel per month for the 800.The car's used only for short round the corner trips.

An update on the car. THe FC has done. The wipers which were busted did not cause any issue.Won't be using the car for the monsoon period.Heck my driving goes down during these 3-4 months as i cannot bear to subjects my cars to the poor road conditions during these days.

Total damage for the FC was 4500, 3200 -green tax, 1300 for the driving motor to whom i had given the car to get the FC done,700 bucks for the wheel alignment report which is mandatory.Plus i also have to pay insurance renewal this month which 1401.

Off late i have noticed that the front passenger sides rubber carpet has collected water.I am not able to pin point the leak where the water is seeping in.Anyone had a similar experience ?.This is the first time in 15 years that i have seen water getting collected inside the car. This is getting me worried as it will lead to corrosion and rust.

After 17 years with a total odo read of just 38012 the car has been sold.I was finding it difficult to maintain two petrol cars at today's prices and decided to let it go.Plus parking had become a issue and i was getting too tied up to look after 2 cars.

The car did needed some work like wiper mounts, tin work ,a new battery and a new spare tyre and would have set me back by atleast 10K min.I decided it was not worth spending so much on the car and decided it was time to move on.

So bid farewell to my oldie, may she run long. I heard she would be taken to Lucknow.Good luck to the new owners.

Mods can close this thread.

Thanks

Hi sumeet, a very nice thread by you. I read it for the first time today. I think your car aged with time and not by the ODO. I do understand it is a tough time to part with something that has become an integral part of your system. I can imagine the joy of owning a car 17 years back when this particular model was the queen of Indian roads. The memories you may have with this car would be too sweet to be forgotten.

Best of luck for your other car and I do hope you would keep us updated with your ownership experience with that car as well.
