5k ? why? i thought going in for mineral oil, the service must come to about 2.5k max. i m not seeing the justification for 5k in this. even if you assume 900 for a filter, about 1000+ for mineral oil (its substantially cheaper isnt it?) + flush = well max about 3k if at all. i think i m opting for service the day after if possible. cant drag this more.

It would be around 4500-5000. here is what I paid for 20K service -

1. Air filter - Rs. 230
2. Fuel element - Rs. 842
3. Oil filter - Rs. 344
4. Coolant - Rs. 209
5. Brake Fluid - Rs. 276
6. Gear oil - Rs. 463
7. Engine oil - 537

Labour -
1. Service - Rs. 750
2. Brake bleeding - 95
3. Brake caliper greasing - 95
4. Brum brake cleaning - 190
5. Consumables - 100

All the above were taxed at around 12.5% (12.5% for parts and 12% + 3% cess on 12% for labour)

ok my car is in from 20k service done at 18.3 k. most problems rectified. changed air filter, oil back to mineral, gear knob now slots much better, engine power and pull restored after cleaning block in air filter. nothing done to tyres. fully cleaned up. total bill was 3775/-

also, i ll give the split up in the next post for those interested. one thing to note was that i had a BIT for removing the alloy wheel (its like a custom spanner) made to order from sai iyengars within my car. neither did i notice whether it was or was not there nor did they notice. so as of now thats lost. 250 bucks down the drain and an important part at that.

i ve ordered another one from sai's. will be available tuesday.

unfortunately i had take my little son to a marriage and on way back after he had his milk, he puked the whole thing on a fantastically cleaned car. now its stinking so badly (even after the wash after the wash) that i have to give it to another wash again looks like. problem was the puke was in between front two seats, gear knob and the channel below seat area. difficult to clean all the crap. spent 30 mins meticulously removing all of that.

today morning took the car on 50km drive, found it energetic and full of enthu. behaved extremely well.

still got to do tyre aligning and balancing sometime at sai's.

I say Maruti has made sure about a couple of things in Swift D which was an issue in swift P. Clutch and suspensions. both are really good in Swift D. Clutch is really hard though.

My Siwft has done some 14000 Kms and would be taking her for mid service checkup. Basically I am planning to do a Delhi - Jaipur in Nov end and want car to be Ok for the journey. There are no major issues as such. I plan to do following things. Please fill out if I missed on something important.

1. Wheel Alignment & Balancing.
2. Tyre Rotation
3. AC Vent cleaning
4. Air Filter cleaning
5. Brake Pad checking (Not sure)
6. Paint touch ups on the lower side of front bumpber.
7. I would want them to check up front door minor rattles, but not sure of the fear that they might end up causing more rattles.

Since I haven't had any puncture in these 14K Kms (touchwood), my Spare tyre hasn't been used even once. Though I got air filled in it last time I wen to pump. Would you advise me to replace any of the four current tyres with this spare tyre ?
