My new Aveo UVA - Team-BHP

Hi all,
This is my first post in team-bhp.After doing a lot of reach for six months, took deliver on 3rd August 07.This is my first car.

I did check out various cars in this segment, well all the cars have their pros and cons. Firstly I was looking for space, decent fuel economy, good leg space, high ground clearance and ease of driving.

After driving the car for a week here are my observations

Pros:-
Engine is smooth and silent
Very spacious and comfortable
NVH factors are very good and car is very silent from inside
High ground clearance (188 mm)
Tilt steering is a very useful feature
City drivability is easy

Cons:-
Not so smooth gear shift
Interiors are not that great compared swift or getz
Rear visibility
Dash board reflects and it is very hard to drive
Pickup drops while AC is on

Price:-
5, 37,500 (on road) – 7,800 (Music system) + 4,600 (color) = 5, 34,300

Congrats Kumar! Welcome to the Aveo club. Nice buy.

Unfortunately, you missed the "GM maintenance promise" by a week. GM hasn't changed anything in UVA before and after Aug 10th. So you can be happy that you have a "guaranteed" car.

UVA is a neat car.. I have seen EMD's UVA.. very roomy.. Do post a short review / mileage / performance / buying experience etc.. and some pics too..

Surprisingly enough I'm finding tonnes of UVAs in the US this time. Its really strange cos US was supposed to be home of monster sized cars/trucks/SUVs.

@EatMyDust - thanx buddy, I bought the car in my native (Madurai), Since Iam planning to get a transfer to Chennai

@GTO - Yeah its bit pricey, But my mom is suffering from a back problem and she was very comfortable in uva than swift or getz. All the cars have their own pros and cons. Gear shift and interiors were great in getz prime 1.3 gls, but you cannot get everything in a package and there must be some compromise.

Guys any suggestion on seat covers, am confused between soft leather and fabric since it is very hot here (38 degree)

Considering that the swift ZXi wouldnt be too expensive above the UVA - I would wanna know why you chose the UVA?

The ZXIs climate control, airbags, and ABS make for an appealing package, to me. What was your thought process.

Congrats on your new car - has the dealer said anything about your car being included in the promise scheme?
