Default Plastic covers

Congrats! That's a well written ownership experience.
Wish you'd remove the plastic covers now!

Congrats!! I got myself the March 2007 version, I guess it's the old one but I haven't had any problems so far. Truly agreed with most of your feedback.
However, there is one niggling problem, the silver/grey handle on the door, it makes a squeaky/creaking sound when it's being gripped hard or the passenger leans their leg on it. Anyone felt this? And now the color seems to be fading. Can we complain the same to GM?

Moda note: do not use font/colour tags.

Thanks Indian. Yes, Aveo sales are picking up specially after the launch of the improved version and the added benefit of warranty and the new Chevy promise.

I am satisfied with my decision to buy Aveo 1.4 and am happy to join the Aveo club.

Thanks Podilam. The on road price in Delhi is 6.45. After discount I got it at 6 net. I guess the taxes and registration charges are more in Bangalore, hence the difference.

Thanks and Congrats to you too.

Yes I agree, the door handle makes a squeaky/creeking sound. I have noticed this while pulling the door from inside. However, the colour is still intact as mine is just a month old. Yes, we should bring this to the attention of the dealer and GM. I will do so soon and will let you know the follow-up.

BTW how many kms has your Aveo done and what is the current FE you are getting?

Thanks Lokesh. My Aveo had run 3500 km so far. The current FE in city is between 10 to 11, with A/C (blower speed at 2 most of the time). The traffic condition is Cochin is horrible these days, so I am sure I can get even more once I get it to a less crowded place, like Trivandrum, where I currently stay.

I recently brought aveo 1.4. its just 225km done. today morning i had a problem

the gear knob went totally loose ,i was not able to ut the reverse, whenever i was putting it in reverse it was going forward. even the 1st gear felt like i am putting it in 3rd gear .
i had hard time parking my vechile, immediately called the service center , withing half n hour the technician was there to attend,

what actually happened : there is connection between gear knob and the gear boz , the joint part , i think has gone loose.
The technician did some fixing after which car was performing good, but he tok it to workshop for more through check up.

Well it shouldnt hapen like this , but anyway i am happy that service people immediately turned up for help.

beside this issue there has been no issue with my car, i agree with lokesh regarding the fuel efficiency its giving something around 10kmpl in city with AC on always.

Default Great review

I am planning to go for Aveo in nest 2 weeks or so. I have already checked out all possible options available in the market. All I am worried about Aveo is its mileage. Not sure what is the fact as I have read across sites that it varies between 9-15. Can any body chip in on this and the car as a whole???

Good the chevy guys responded with prompt service. Hope you aren't facing such issues now.
BTW, I have my 6 month old Aveo 1.4, and when I was test driving the car, the sales guy kept raving about VGIS and the ability to cruise at 25 km IN 5TH without jerking or anything. It actually did work but to climb back to speed at that gear from 25 kmph or so was difficult!! It felt like a good idea at first, like, it could be useful in slightly heavy traffic but I after reading all this, I think it's a bad idea. It sounds like engine lugging/labouring, although, the car does not jerk or complain of being in 5th in such low speeds.
