16" ers and 50 profiles could spoil the plush ride. But, handling should improve by a fair margin.
@ Sudarshansarma - Its up to you to decide what you need. Good ride or better handling.
@ Beanstalk_230 - I'm using regular diesel. Have faced no problems.

I saw a slight increase in FE after the 5k service. I'm getting about 10kmpl in full city traffic with 80% AC.

I have used 205/50/15 in a Optra, the ride aint that bad.

Just 10kmpl, you drive on full throttle?

yeah 10 is quite low

even i drive 100% in the city and i am getting 14-15 easily since winters came by (without ac) and even with ac I managed to get 13-14 easily (all on reliance diesel), never calc. FE on normal D

you must be driving real hard

i my getting 11kpl city driving after 5k service used to get 10 before this is in mangalore
and the stock alloys on the lt model are pretty good(lol company price is around 10,000/- rs for each alloy) i have changed the tyres to 205/55/15 yoko es 100 and find the ride to be harder and when turning the wheel to the extreme left or right the tyre touches the body so i dont think upsize to 16 inch is advisable

After some trial and error, i would say its best to opt for 205/50/15 if you plan to go for 205s for the Optra.

Hey Thanks for the info..the local dealer did not have a vehicle to TD yesterday..Hopefully he will call tomorrow. Howz the maintenance scene.. I'm unable to get the 100K warranty claim that makes GM famous. The sales rep is ready to give only upto 50K kms..or 2 years -

With the current Cut in ED the Innova top end diesel looks attractive as the reliability toyota offer is attractive.

The captiva has a VGT which helps the power to 150bhp.
