Problem Time: My FE has fallen from about 20 to about 14-15 just after the service. Need help guys.

Can it be the new diesel filter thats leaking or something else ? Plan to take it to MASS tmrw.

Have you checked a tank fill to tank fill (both after service)?
If not please do it and see the difference. Diesel may be wasted during servicing and idling etc.

Yep, filled up after the service and have noticed it close to empty with only 430 km run from the earlier figure of about 680-700. Filled from the same COCO bunk.

One of the pipes leading to the filter had not been tightened properly and was leaking diesel. Fixed today.

Guys, My VDI has done 17K kms in 8 months and I can see black smoke from the exhaust at least 2wice a week it is so bad that I can't see the road behind me. My thrid service is over and the next is due in 20K kms. I had personallu cleaned my air filter at 15K kms.
Has any body faced a similar problem with the VDI, and what was done to rectify the same.
I was using premium deisel then switched to normal one. My question is on a bigger picture, is it a problem all the swift VDi's after 15K kms. As I have a friend who has done 15K in 2 yrs he also has the same problem he has been using normal fuel. It was ok all this while only after 15K the smoking problem started

Default 26000 Update

Couple of updates since I posted last:

-- Got oil and filter changed at 25,600
-- Tyre rotation done
-- Mobil delvac Super 1300 used. Will try and use some other brand next time just to see the difference.
-- The service cost me 1249 bucks.
-- Break Up: Oil - 600 odd
Filter 375
Labour 150
Rest in VAT etc.
-- The car was washed and cleaned extremely well.

Overall very happy with the car. The bad roads have to my rear parcel tray rattling. Got to get that fixed. Also, the cover on one of the rear speakers (JBL 0937) has come off and rattles. Dont know how to get that fixed.

Everything else is fantastic, touchwood.

Happy bday to the car! Am itching to get some long trips done, all this city driving is making me and snowhite grumpy. Before that badly needed rear door setting, which was goofed up at last service.
