The horn is working absolutely fine now, all on its own

I am guessing that it got wet during service and had dried off to behave normally now. I hope the problem does not resurface.

Its the Delo400 engine oil. Highly recommended by the gurus of oil here.

Price: 10L can for 2000 bucks
Benefits: API CI+ is the specification. The highest spec available for a mineral oil.

Smile Update Time

I had gone to a friends place for dinner a couple of days back. I come back, sit in the car, turn the key, wait for the service light to go off...... it does not. I am worried. I try again. No luck.

I start the car and was relieved to see the service light go off immediately. Experts here tell me that its a minor error code that has been registered and it was safe to drive around for a couple of days (just did not have enough time to visit the service center, especially when I had no clue as to how long it would take.)

Finally took the car to the service station today. The error code registered was Brake Light Circuit. The brake switch needed some cleaning. The error code was set all right and I was relieved

While I was at it, got my air filter cleaned (just a simple tak-tak thumping against a wall and not air pressure cleaning).

Took ten minutes. Well done Apra Motors, Gurgaon.

Thanks Jaggu for the help and reassurance and Hitanshu for the Apra contact.

Just back from an engine oil change at a road side MASS. For the first time (and after 41,148 kms) Delo400 goes into my car. Am going out for a drive on the DND tonight, will see if I am able to spot any difference in the way she behaves.

ok, i'll accept thanks in terms of the engine oil. Should be 15k by April end - let's plan a oil change meetup
PS: This time the service center used the same gunk oil - saw them changing too - but just at 3k km post the 10k, its sounding quite loud. Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me too this time. And hence an oil change at 3800km only. The service center I visited last had put some Shell oil instead of the regular Mobil Delvac 1300 super. The car sounded quite rough lately and the engine oil indicator light took a second or so more than usual to go off.

Will see how the new oil has made the difference. What oil do you plan to use this time ?

Thumbs down

Nobody or nothing remains a virgin forever. This applies to my car too.

Sometime back, I noticed the parking brake light coming on intermittently while the car was on the move. By the time I took it to MASS (Apra Motors, Gurgaon) the next day, the light was on permanently. The brake oil was running low and was topped up. I was adviced to drive around a little bit and see if it happens again. And yes, it did.

Took the car to Apra again today and after checking the brake system for leaks, and finding none, the final diagnosis is that the Clutch Master Cylinder (CMC) is leaking. The replacement cost is around 3-5k and is not covered in extended warranty. Thanks to the quick info provided by Jaggu and GD sir, CMC leakage will cause the brake oil to leak since the hydraulic clutch uses the brake oil as its fluid.

I took the car back, and will take it for repairs on Wednesday. But before that, a couple of questions:

- Why is the CMC not covered in extended warranty ?
- Why did it leak ?
- Is there a point taking a second opinion ?
- Is it worth escalating the issue to MUL ?

Thoughts guys ???
