motor_breathing: You should probably take the alternative route through Athani and Sathy to Coimbatore. Saves time and the hassle of driving through roads which are being 4 laned.

The speed breakers are meant for lorries and buses and made without thinking about cars. I've seen some giant ones on which any car would scrape.

While returning I had a careful look at the humps and the centre part is higher than the sides. That's the reason why middle of the car got scrapped otherwise the running board sides which is the lowest should hit.
A colleague of mine from CBE suggested athani sathi kalapeti route, but since I was not to sure about the route took the highway.
