You removed the AC blower fan and cleaned the unwanted stuff from it. Right ?

IMO there's no such filter in Swift DDIS.
From the discussions here what I understood is this filter is available as an accessory only. Not as factory fitted.

That makes me feel a bit better that I didn't get ripped off by replacing an almost new filter with a new filter

Default 1st service for the VDi

Hi Guys,

I got my VDi's 1st service done last weekend. But the experience was not that good. Here it is -

There were lots of things that happened during the first service of my car. After hunting for Delvac like anything, I succeeded in finding it right before the service.

When I entered the vehicle bay and was handing over the car to the service advisor, he told me that under no circumstances are they ready to fill any oil provided by the customer. They said that they have there own, so called Maruti Certified, oil that they use. Supposedly Shell, they don't even mention the brand on the final bill. I came to know about the brand only by the word of mouth.

I did try to argument hard that why the customer is being made to stick to the dealer provided oil only. To this service guys said, in this case they would put a remark on the service booklet that oil provided by the customer and if there is a problem with the engine wot so ever the warranty won't be applicable. Now after spending so much on the car if anyone gets to hear the warranty void thing I guess most of the people would step back as I did. Fortunately the Mobil shop guy was helpful enough to return the oil.

I'm still unsure that was the warranty void thing true or just a gimmick to sell the dealership oil.

Typical arrogant dealer, i just walked away from one of the biggest in BLR due to this. Thankfully another branch of the same dealership is fine with my request lol See as long as you have evidence that oil used is a per specification they cant deny you warranty. I suggest find a better customer friendly dealer.

MUL dealers still has to grow up! MUL listening??!

Jaggu, If part number is available, one can pick it up ordering from Mass.
By the way I checked it up in the Swift Parts Manual booklet but could not find it.(Manual price Rs.212.00 Looks just like the owners manual with exploded diagram parts & number, a single book for Swift old & new models & dzire)

I suggest you buy one such manual, as you are the foremost guru on Swift Diesel, it is available with Maruti parts distributor ESS ARR Auto, Nr Urvashi theatre.
Infact the parts manual itself has a part number: 99000M24120-623, they initially hd no stock but got one after I paid the amount in advance, just spoke to a guy called Krishna(ph:9901996482) there, they have the manual in stock

Default Rough engine noise - DDIS

Jaggu - Remember I had mentioned earlier that my DDIS does not cross 130 KMPH and I got the air filter cleaned which solved the problem.

After that visit to Sagar, when I accelerate to 3000 RPM, I feel engine has become rough and engine sound is coarse. The Sagar guy tells me that it is typical of cars where the driver regularly accelerates to 3k RPM.

Solution = He asked me not to revv hard and engine noise will gradually reduce automatically.

Car has done 16k KMS and I use BP diesel from BTM layout Advaith pump.

Pls advice

But happy to say that, there are dealers, who follow process to make sure that, business is customer oriented and bothers lot about their reputation.

When the dealer called for feedback on purchase experience, rated 9-9.5 out of 10 and made a suggestion how they can improve in washing a 6.2 lac car. The very next day got call from frsustrated sales executing offering wash next available my time. So conclusion - they make mistakes, but someone pushing them to correct it, good MUL!, and we customers knock and then bang the door till it opens.

Thanks Ankit. But what happens when we press that button?. I dont see any beep or arming action when pressing it.

Jaggu, When saying increase the RPM to a level say 3k, this has to happen in any specific gear? means, Should rev it on all gear 1-5 to 3k?

Sorry Jaggu, I went through the bill and the part number is just given as "AC SWIFT"!!! And for that matter none of the other parts/consumables had a longish alphanumeric number like you would expect - eg., engine oil was part number 009. This is in Sai Service, btw, which is quite reputed in Pune.

Anyway, I hope you can find the filter The part name is "A/C Cabin Air Filter"

Regards,
Amit.

there would be no action incase you press the button 1-2 times.

there are a few steps(mentioned in the manual)for arming/disarming action.
you can check the manual on this.

I suggest you lodge a complaint against the dealer with Maruti and see how the dealer comes to his knees and listens to you. Please do write to Maruti giving all the details of the specs of the oil and also how it meets/exceeds Maruti specified requirements and how dealer personnel are not trained or do not understand the specification of oils.

Insist on a written apology from the dealer when dealer contacts you. Do not budge.

Complete bull! i rev the car to even higher rpms, check the level and quality of oil, as usual ill recommend Delvac MX for best results. Keep the air filter clean and occasional highway trips at higher rpm will do wonders.

Try IOC regular diesel and see if it helps.

Once you do the intial running in drive as you please, though reving beyond 3.5k on a stock engine might not be really useful. Its the way you rev, feel the engine power delivery and modulate that gas pedal instead of stomping on it, the car will perform well. Also check my reply above on opening the revs once in a while, it does good.

Give it a try, but i dont think it would help much. I tried this and a very apologetic customer service person spoke to me on phone and requested to bring the car back. As a customer i would prefer to take the car somewhere else, where i neednt escalate, beg and plead my case.

Its my car at the end of the day and i would want them to work on it to my satisfaction and not give me some stupid excuse!

3.1 liter plus a filter you will require for an oil change, do not fill more than this.

2.9 liter if you are only changing the oil without filters. You will need to goto a mass with proper tools and oil filter stock, to replace oil.
