The car and battery are almost 3 yrs old and yes, there is a bit of extra time taken for the engine to start...but then it starts at first crank. Thanks for all the advice!

Could you pls suggest a battery brand and place where I can get a new one? I stay in Bangalore...and also what would be the cost pls.

Thanks again! Jaggi

Amaron 66DIN is the best. I installed one for 6.2K in Kolkata after exchanging the old battery.

And I am happy with my 74 DIN Amaron.
Anand 66 is good if you dont have Heavy battery sucker ICE compos. Dont spend 2.5K extra on 74 DIN.

This discussion comes handy for me. I faced the same issue last week, while I was away in Hyderabad. Got it checked at one place, and he said as of now, the voltage etc seem fine, but may give trouble in a week-1 month time.
I got it checked at another place and he said everything is fine. So didnt bother to press panic button.

The thing which confused me most, and need help is, there seem to be different ranges starting from 6000 - 8000
With 3 year, 4 year, 5 year warranty.
5 year is a full replacement upto 30 months, and remaining 30 months is pro rated refund warranty.
Which one to go for?

A call that you should take based on your plans for the car. Are you planning to keep the car for next five years. If so go for the 5 year one or else other options are good enough. Isn't it?

Jaggu,

My VDI has completed 30k kms, what things should be covered as part of the 30k servicing ?

Also since last 3-4 months, I have been experiencing loud thudding sounds on bad roads. Could it be the suspension ?

No harm in going for bigger one since it will have more reserve power for running the ICE.

Usual check list from the manual, if you are particular replace the air filter which is usually changed at 20k kms.

Suspension sound nothing much can be done, ie if it was there from day 1. If its a new one, do check the front strut bush and do a bush kit replacement job for both the front struts.
