Had taken friends zen to Suraksha Hsr road and i was not very happy with the set up or the attitude i vouch for Suraksha Adugodi body work but not the mechanical work of Suraksha team.

Big dealers are better, although they charge and replace anything and everything under the sun. They have good inventory of parts also.

For me thats peace of mind.

lol. I would agree to that and so would Ajmat. I also gave a try with my friend's WagonR and another Alto to Surakshaa Service masters on Hosur road opposite Infosys at E-city. They did a pretty good job of both cars. The alto was rattling terribly and had quite a few issues with suspension. All problems were fixed. The rattling was completely gone as they had stuffed some packing material in the doors. Now I am thinking of getting it done for my car as well.

All fluids check/top up, except gear box oil.
Air filter clean up.
Electricals check up.
Brakes and Suspension check up only. If they find anything wrong, they will ask you beofore working.
Any other reported complaints.

This is the standard thing practiced by Maruti i guess.

Done and Resolved. Thanks Jaggu ... the culprit was a really really dirty air filter, I've never seen anything like that , it just poured dirt. Bought the Greens cleaning kit too, so I could try doing this myself the next time. And I realised that the filter hasn't 'ever' been cleaned during the last two Maruti service sessions, if they weren't planning to do it ... they should atleast say so, I've been driving around assuming that it's been cleaned. Anyway, all's well, Pete's back and it's time to give him some stick (No offence, Pete )

Hi Folks,
I just want some of you experts to advise me. I have a Swift Ldi which has run 6500 km. Just recently I marked that in the 1st gear when the car is about to start moving there is a lot of vibration for about 3 seconds. After the car picks up momentum there is no problem thereafter.

Is it a problem in the clutch and I want to know whether it is a common problem in all swift diesels?

Kindly help me out

Try to get the hydrolic circuit of clutch bled, should help. maybe you need to little adjust to the way you disengage the clutch also.

OT: So I am not the only one who is un-happy with servicing at Suraksha, Adugodi ?

Where do we go from here ? Pls suggest a place for a M800. TIA!

The RNS hosur road branch is pretty decent, the bill might be lil more since they follow the typical replace parts policy. Try them, make a good rapport with your service adviser and explain to him the job that needs to be done, you should have a pleasant experience.

I would prefer a reference before going there.

Car's not mine, but my cousin's. Point is, this is the second place that I referred him to, and both have not been very satisfying experiences. He tried Suraksha based on my inputs (which were based on Viddy's & Rudra's posts - IIRC. SIA if I am wrong on those points).

If you see my last service update i did have a decent experience there (RNS hosur), then again i took the effort of spending additional few minutes explaining my needs and setting my expectation clear about the job being done, i think this is the most important thing in any garage.

Rudra got an excellent painting job @ suraksha adugodi coz he was also very clear in explaining what his expectations were.

Any day i rate RNS hosur better since they are full fledge M.A.S.S with sales and service. You can contact the Service Manager Gururaj and which should be helpful. Dont know if he remembers but you can refer to the white swift vdi, should ring the bell

The price difference and interest rates all has been discussed to death, use search to get more info.
Well...sorry but I just put out information after enquiry with the service supervisor. Just consulted my manual and the interval for the diesel Swift is 20K as opposed to 40K for the petrol on paved roads. And yes it makes a distinction on dusty conditions in which case the recommended interval for cleaning (not replacement) is 2500 instead of 5000 kms for petrol. It specifies that cleaning is not required for diesel just replacement every 20K.

On the prices for air filter - I made a mistake, yes it is 250 not 400.

The fuel filter interval changes are 20K and 40K for diesel and petrol respectively.

Just completed my 20K service. Cost me around 5K. No complaints except for one conked out horn which was replaced under warranty.

Most service stations go by the book and as per maruti, the diesel airfilter does not warrant(cannot be) cleaning(ed) until 20k kms. At which point, they replace the filter.

Reality however is different and the paper filter gets really dirty in hostile conditions. I am not sure if paper filter gets damaged, but you can try using compressed air to get the filter cleaned up a li'l bit. I got it cleaned at Maruti A.S.S, so did Jaggu, I believe.

So did I. Remove the filter and try and knock out as much dust as possible. And a very light compresses air job does the trick.
