Looking at the picture, you need to replace the rear side section along with boot assembly and the stay/members. You wouldnt need much of chassis correction, replace the members and align them proper and you are ready to go. Rest of the work like door alignment, gaps etc can be corrected very easily.

Ensure that they do a proper body panel alignment and then proceed with painting, then things should be fine. Check if they can use dupont for painting, then color matching and final finish will also be purfect.

I've had them do body work before, and like jkdas posted before, the paint finish was very good (few hidden paint drips under the hood though).

In fact, some of my doors and rear fenders are painted with com paint, and the damn thing has started to yellow out. so its not essential that they colour match. Best of course would be if they would sand/remove the com paint and then paint the doors also !

I haven't had the need of extensive body repairs in any of my vehicles which involved the chassis, luckily. I guess that chassis work was not needed!

In my Safari, I had rear ended a KSRTC bus on its right edge when I was about to overtake him and he stopped suddenly to save a scooter buy who did a suicidal move in front of him. The finish was perfect.

The whole right side of my Innova was ripped right from above the front tyre right upto the rear in a freak accident. To this day, I don't remember myself what and how it hit me. The only car that was lying on the other side of the road was an Indica. After repairs nobody would have guessed that it had been damaged.

Nowadays the repair work quality has gone up and you have a higher chance of getting your vehicle back in good shape than before.

I can only join you in hoping for the best!

I have seen quite a few painted cars from the A.S.S that looked horrible.
- There was a big line of paint dripping on one the of the doors of one car.
- One FIAT's Black colour could not be matched properly!!!

Its good news to me when you guys say you had good experience with painting works here. Or is it that FIAT and TATA paintings are done by different people with different equipment and thats why this difference??

I had drips under the hood when I had the front painted, but the colour match and the finish were perfect (its solid white, and the universal indica colour - you have to try very hard to screw up with that )

emm. maybe they just got the booth when they updated the a.s.s. centre and maybe a better skilled guy.The one I am talking about is the by-pass one. If they can match pearl white, they can match anything I guess.

Hey Greenhorn,

Just got to read about this after you mentioned this in another post. Glad to know you and your dad are safe. The Indica seems to have taken it well too, going by the fact that it was hit by a bus (a Kerala state transport one at that).

Look forward to seeing the car in better shape and your continued report as well.

The Insurance surveyor should have seen the car on thursday/Friday. Will check with the advisor and update the details.
