Congrats Rudra. I too have a 1976 model Mark III Petrol Amby back in my hometown.

This car was bought new by my father and has run approximately 220K Kms so far. It has been modified quite a bit, though not from technical perspective. I changed the gear to flloorshift, fixed bucket seats in front and some small mods to the dashboard, but it is still the old style (metal top) one. Steerign wheel also was changed to the one which has built-in horn buttons (not the steel rings). Will post some pictures soon.

We had tried to sell this car a few years back and maximum quote we got was for Rs 12K So I thought we wil keep it as a "vintage" item instead.

Rudra sir, saw this car in Khan Market & took pictures of it since I thought you might like it! Please excuse the poor quality of the phone cam.

I believe the car belongs to Sir Neville Tully but could be wrong. It belongs to an expat for sure though. Hope you enjoy the pics!

The red amby looks nice!

However, the SUV-ish mirrors look out of place! and whats with the rope like thing tied to it and hanging down?

This car does not belong to Mark Tully, though he too has an Amby and a Conty.

this car belongs to a German journalist who is currently in Delhi. the reason I know is that he is my next door neighbour in Delhi (Nizamuddin east). The rules of the forum prevent me from disclosing his identity though.

this car is a 86 or 87 model (mar IV) with a transplanted 1800 ISZ engine and is actually not in that good nick. though the photos look nice, in reality its paint finish is actually quite poor and you can easily see the spra overs where some putty has been used on the body. the engine sounds quite nice though.

Well there you have it, thanks Himanshu! I didn't get a chance to really closely inspect the car since I was in a hurry, took these pictures as she does look very striking in this colour. Waise, Germans are not really known for flamboyant colours on their car you know!
