Default small update

A small update :

I changed the board for the rear speakers. I bought 3/4 inch thickness Newwood and made polish for it and the vibrations are filtered by the good quality wood and due to more weight.

Hey undead, the woodwork looks good, the color gels well and workwise it looks very neat. Is it a MDF wood or rubber wood?

MDF wood. Actually i wanted the color to be made similar to the Central Console trim colour. But , the painter took the board to the home and painted it and spoiled it. But this looks unique anyways .

Except for the CRDI engine, it isn't an enthusiast's car.
Disclaimer: My opinion, since a few folks laid out their opinion.
The GETZ will make the swift D and Palio D eat dust. Its a car with performance and the suspension is for comfort not race track experience.

Agreed, the swift D has a stiffer suspension and handles well on track. BUT it is only on track else it is BAD. Cant handle a pothole at 140 and hold steady.

The GETZ is better here. Agreed that the GETZ D is also expensive than the swift D but when you look at rear seat comfort etc, IMO its more VFM.

Have driven the Verna CRDi. Will TD the GETZ D and give a first hand report

That's what holds me back from putting my money down for it. I love the engine but handling sucks. If you could get ABS even as an option, I would go for it. Its a bit better than the Verna (the speed boat) but still leaves a big scope for improvement.

Plus its not fair to compare the Multijet/DDIS of Palio/Swift with this gem of an engine. Remember this engine is more modern as it has a variable geometry turbo while the other two have fixed ones. Turbo lag is quite minimal.

According to this thread:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-handling.html (Which hatch back has best suspension and road handling)

GetZ is not as bad as you make out.

Getz is not a bad handler. When i had a TD of Getz Crdi, it felt more planted than Verna with stock tires.
I agree older verna was a flying boat. New ones have stiffened suspension.

Hyundai has stiffened front suspension of Getz D to hold additional weight of diesel engine.
It has also reworked on braking system to compensate for additional power generated by the diesel mill.
Ride quality of getz is far superior than a swift. The chassis of getz is tuned for better ride quality.

@Nitrous, The heart of an enthusiasts car is engine and everybody is aware of how powerful Getz CRDi is. Rest depends on your driving skills.

On a recent trip to north karnataka, i was driving my chevy spark on pune bangalore highway and a scorpio, esteem & a safari were racing with me for almost 100KM.
I was always ahead of them as i was constantly doing 120+ in a small car like spark weighing just 840KG.
No matter what car you have, its important how you drive.

For the additional cost (compared to swift) you are paying, you get more powerful engine, better ride quality, more space, lively interiors (if you like beige) and most importantly better build quality. When you are getting so much stuff, paying an additional 80K should not be a concern.

EOD it depends on ones requirement.

Vabs, did i miss anything? and when are you getting your baby monster?

Those who makes opinion about handling/ ride quality/driveability should have first hand experience of that car to check these parameters and more over qualified to judge these parameters just like coffee tasters/wine tasters. Only then you'd be sure about that.

Not criticizing anybody when I say that and just want to make sure everyone comments based on thier OWN experience.

My score for handling is like this.
Swift diesel: 9 out of 10
Getz diesel :8.5 out of 10
Palio(petrol) : 8.5 out of 10

Cheers
Anju

1900 . I was aiming for 3060 , but the lot has not yet opened and from June 1 , Lifetax is increased from 6% to 8% for Tamilnadu . So , i had to go for this.

My wiring is different . I have connected the Auxillary lights to the direct H/L control , so that when its in High Beam , all the four lights are ON , and at Low Beam , only the H/Ls are ON. Further i have given separate control switch for auxillary lights alone parallely .
