Just left the car for the 25K [its just 24K done on ODO] service. Given to Sundaram Motors who have moved to Hoodi junction near ITPL. Very convenient for me since I stay this side of the Bangalore.

Service adviser was mentioning about changing of Spark plug. What is the interval for the spark plug change?

Anyway, I haven't given green signal yet and have no idea of changing anytime soon unless I see any issue.

Will update the service feedback later today or tomorrow.

Hi Mjothi,
I dont think you should get the spark plugs changed at 25000 interval. The most you can do is , ask the service manager to clean the gap at the top of the plug using sand paper. That would be enough unless the plug is shorted or something.
Rest all normal service procedures should be followed like: changing of fuel, air and oil filter etc.
Do get the door hinges oiled. Aveo doors have a tendency to be squeaky,at least mine does.
There is a rubber seal inside the rear wheel arch, which if not present, will make water go inside the columns beneath the doors. Do check if that seal is present after service. Mine were not and water used to accumulate inside( Water standing on roads after heavy rains) which had to be drained out by taking off the seals from beneath the column.
Rest Alls is Wells

Thanks Nitin.

Ya, I started noticing the squeaky noise not on the doors, but somewhere in the shocks I think. I hear it everytime the car runs on humps or bad roads.

I have told them, said may be lubes issue. Let me check today evening.

Just got a call from the SA that the car is ready. He had mentioned about some leakage in the rear shocks due to which the squeaking noise was coming. Replaced under warranty.

Comments on service after taking the delivery.

Btw, I have a question.

Is it possible to fit a LED light or lamp inside this RED reflector? Anyone done it?

Got the car delivered. Was not fully satisfied with the work. Some of the complaints informed was not correctly attended. The squeaking noise is still present.

Talked with the Manager, he has promised to check it again. So, it needs to go back to service station, probably on this Saturday. :(

Hope its taken care in next visit.

Took it today on the way to office and got it corrected. That is one more benefit of having the service station near your house.

The squeaking sound from rear has subsidized, but I doubt if its settled. Need to wait and watch.

In addition of missing some repair I mentioned, they lost the cap on the top of the Wiper which encloses the fasteners. Got it today back.

Overall, would have been fully satisfied if the complaints were attended in one shot. So, my rating is only 8/10.

OT: Went through their Benz facility. Man, guys with soft heart should not visit this place. So many Merc, all accident vehicles. Very bad.

What did they do to reduce the squeak? If it is just the visit that did it, I suggest you stop by everyday on your way to work, that way your car will be completely noiseless.

It subsidized after the new Shock absorbers. The old one seem to have some leaks. Hence changed under warranty.

Meaning, nothing towards the noise was done on the 2nd visit. It was more about the missing portion of the complaints.

I was just quoting my observation about the noise the 2nd time.

Btw, the noise is still present. I doubt if it was due to the shocks. Something else like bush or other things around those are also to be inspected. Need to somehow locate the problem to make them attend correctly.

Hari,
Probably we can try it out when you are bringing your Optra for service. There are loads of bad stretch around that area to test it out

Yesterday, myself and Ayappan (Kavu75) were trying to locate the sound by driving it in one of the "best" road that fits a jeep.

But we could not hear any sound even in those bad roads. And when I was returning back to home from there, I started to hear again. Finally, I localized it to be the famous related to seat belt. This sound comes only if I put on the seat belt. I remember some other members to highlighting this from their car.

Anyone succeeded i arresting this guy?

Thanks Kavu for your time.

Good that you have identified the issue. Remember, i mentioned before doing TD about the sound coming from seat belt buckle. So while doing the TD we didn't put the seat belts.
But still keep a watch on this because the sound coming from seat belt and you mentioned seems to be different.

Default re: Finally here comes my Aveo 1.4 LS Limited edition EDIT: 52000 KMs Update

I have driven for 12K without Wheel alignment, and its time to pay for it Blame it on my laziness.

Got it aligned today. One tyre had just 1.8 thread depth. However changed it with the Spare wheel for now.

Anyway, seems its getting closer for the tyre change.

I am more inclined to keep the alloys and go with the 195/60R14. why? I guess it will help to gain some GC. Anyone tried? Any other side effects by this upgrade?

Hey

I changed the tyres on 45k exact, they could have done another 2-3k but did not want to take the risk. I stuck to the same profile but am using Yokos A drive now.

I also used to get wheel alignment done only after 10k but luckily the wear was even in all, btw How many kms has your car done so far?
