Nope - what are they? the 2 RED lamps seen in the middle of many maruti swifts? or say the bumpers of safari's and grande's? I dont have them... the rear pic is available in my garage. thats how it came...

OK, on your headlight control stalk, do you have a small ring (similar to the wiper speed adjustment on the intermittent setting) for the front and rear fog lamps?

The rear fog lamps on the Indigo (also the Fiesta) are not separate units and are part of the taillight assembly.

the LS is supposed to have front fog lamps , so the ring should be there
santhosh, try rotating fwd ( to turn on the front fogs ) and then rotating them backward. If there are any rear fogs , they should turn on

Hi Santosh,

I assume that an alignment will take care of both in cars where the back also needs alignment.

I definitley say no to any alignment at the service centre unless they do it as part of any suspension work.

I get my alignment done outside.

yep - i know what you are referring to... the RING turns forward and backward too... but i think only front has fog lamps - none on the rear.

yup - i trust the MASS guy(more than the dealer) as he is a good family friend. Got only the front done, i will leave the rear for now as i hope the company 10K schedule is ok to live with.

Exclamation Front and Rear Fog Lamps

Please refer the following pictures (from XL manual) for OE fog lamps in Indigo range. You have those indicator lamps in instrument clustor if you have fog lamps.

Points to note:
1. Front fog lamps will be functional only if position (parking) lamps are on.
2. Rear fog lamps will be functional only if headlamps are on.

Trust this clarifies operation of front and rear fog lamps in Indigo range.

Ok, so Bouncer has made it all very simple. I was going to explain that but without the illustrations. Check it santhosh. It should be there. The Indica Turbo DLG has it. The front fogs need the parking lights to be on and the rear fogs need the headlight to be on, as Bouncer mentioned. Also, the rear fogs will need the ring to be turned towards yourself. It is a bit difficult to turn on. But once on the instrument cluster will show the sign in orange on the right side (the front ones cause the sign on the left to come on). Remember, unlike the front fog sign which is in green the rear fog sign is in orange.

@Bouncer - @Zappo

Thanks for those tips - still no luck, Bouncer - one more help, can you switch on your rear fog's and take a pic and put them here. I want to know where the rear fog's bulbs are placed. The problem is the CS's have a completely new rear warning light assy - so makes it diff for me to compare between the regular indigo's or the indica's....

@ bouncer: the XL has a colour users manual?

santhosh, your taillamp has two red areas right ?
when does the top part light up, and when does the bottom part light up ?

in my indica,
when headlights are on, the top red light is lit with half intesity, when i brake , half intensity as well, and full intensity when i do both
the bottom red light turns on when i turn on the rear fog lamp

Here is the pic you requested (from manual again), I think it will be more illustrative than actual pic. This is XL's, CS has a different assembly.

Default Yes Yes Yes

My CS (any CS I think) has a Rear Fog Lamp.

I had to chuck my work and get down to parking just to solve this mystery.

CS does'nt have this 4-tier assy like the pic above. Its got a 3-tier assy. Please see pics for reference. and YES - the ORANGE lamp glows

does it work with 6v/12V? I thought there were two filaments.

I dont think the LE versions would have them. they dont have the front fogs , so shouldnt have functional rear fogs either.

I say functional rear fogs because tata has been known to put in fully functional fog lamp assembles , but disconnected for lower end variants , The indica GLS has a fully functional Rear fog , bulb, holders , reflectors etc, but just not connected

@Greenhorn - Yes i think a standard automotive bulb with 2 filaments means 6&12 - I could be wrong, I am referring to the good old days of owning the 2wheeler and changing these bulbs as a std weekend work... so remember seeing those#s somewhere..

A good info about the rear fog lamps, just as I was sharing about this! :-)

So, for the fog lamps to work, you need the headlights also switched on, right?

And is this only for Indigo or does the new Indica have this?
