Totally gone! Air filter was the culprit.

If everything goes as per plan, another CRDi might join the existing monster soon.

Stop teasing and tell us which one! Are you single handedly planning to push up the sales of this hot hatch?

But surprisingly there a few parts which it shares with an Elantra.
Getz/ Elantra have a common fuel filter whereas the Verna and Sonata share the same filter. No idea why it is so.

Got to be little careful in getting one.
Slightly
Last week went and drove an Used Elantra CRDi . 2004 Model . Run 105000 kms. No accident history when i checked with the dealer. Most of the parts changed like Brake Pads , Front Studs , Timing Belt , Clutch plates . New Michelin Tires , Koyas Seats in clean condition , K&N Air Filter . Car in Good condition .But , when i started the car , it seemed like a Stroke was missing while the engine is running in idle, like the engine noise flow was up and down and not smooth. When asked about it with the Hyundai searvice guy , he said , there might be some dust inside the valve and the only option would be changing the injectors which costs Rs. 20000 for One. They say , they should change all the 4 injectors if we decide to do it. Or it may also be a case of Sensor problem .Or , might be one of the cylinder is in a bad condition .Reboring costs Rs.75000+ . Other than the engine , the car was in an immaculate condition. Well maintained by the owner. So , avoided the car due to this.

OT reply : Good decision undead, stay away from any car with engine as suspect. New age engines, esp diesels are quite complicated and cost a bomb to repair.

Default Update :30000 kms / 4th Service (Paid)

The car has gone in for the 30k service today.
Was planning to give the car for servicing at 27.5k kms and finally its gone for servicing after a week and 1000kms due to time constraints and a lot of mile munching.

Problems reported :

1. Brake juddering at speeds > 100kph.
2. Windscreen jet washer alignment (LHS)
3. LHS indicator on fender falling off at speeds above 160kph causing turbulence.

Things to be replaced during 4th service
1. Engine Oil
2. Oil Filter
3. Fuel Air filter in fuel tank
4. Brake Oil
5. Coolant

Note : Now, SHELL HELIX Super 15W40 is the official engine oil replacement for all Hyundai CRDIs.

A 2nd CRDi engine in the back of your Getz CRDi? Similar to Mercedes-McLaren's specially built twin-engined A-class for Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard after they won WDC and WCC !!!!

Don't see an air filter change. Air filter change every 10000kms was a must for the older generation CRDi engines.

Sir,
You are right about replacement of stock air filter @ every 10k kms.
My car is running on Green stock replacement filter which was fitted at 13k kms. Every time i give the car for servicing i remove both petes and the filter and put the stock filter which has only done 3k kms.
During the last two periodic services, the SA was shocked to see such a clean filter after doing more than 10k kms.

You mean to say that , you are afraid that, you loose the warranty if they find out about the green cotton setup ?
