Thanks..

That basically means that that there are now 2 discrepancies:

1. Price
2. The switches are available / purchaseable only in sets.

Can you help me in getting only the switch for the rear-right door? We can discuss modalities of doing so, if it is OK with you, on PM and not clutter up your thread.

EDIT: I am already written to TML about this issue, but their response for such an issue is an unknown factor.

Just lodge a query with customer care. You are in Pune. There should not be any issue in procuring individual switches. Your TASC may be taking you for a ride.

You have hit the nail on the head, sirjee. Thanks

I got a reply within 6 hours of writing to Customer care.

Now it is another matter that T*** is informing that they do not have the switches in stock (and as per them neither is it available at TML SPD)

If part is not in stock, they will need to place an official request with TML, and the job card will be kept open. Keep pinging customer care regularly to inquire status.
I remember when I had injector issue, the injectors were not available for a month. Delphi was doing hanky panky.
The dealer advised me to write to TML as they had tried their best. And voila within a day of my mail Delphi discovered injectors.
In this case also the switches are not made by tata but a third party supplier. Just keep mailing them and the part will arrive.

A complaint number has been automatically generated by customer care.

Pinging Customer care is a good idea. I will write to them again.

Default AC woes!

The AC has stopped cooling.
Compressor switching on, and after that I hear constant hissing sounds. Sign of low gas.
A trip to the workshop tomorrow I guess

Umm... men and white elephants behave entirely differently, it seems.

I don't suppose that glass window exists on the dryer bottle? Used to be a good way to check for refrigerant levels, but most cars have discontinued the design nowadays, including mine.

First thing to check would be the thermostat.

Default AC Pipe hose and refridgerant replacement

The report has come back. Vehicle will be ready by evening.
AC pipes, Compressor oil and AC gas is the damage.
Expected cost 4500.

In the Past 4000kms following are the maintenance expenses
1. Tie rod and center pin Bush = 4077
2. Rear door latch + power window switch + oil filter = 2623
3. 4500 approx today

Total = 11200 in 4000kms. All expenses within 1.5 months of extended warranty got over.

I guess there is some sort of internal timer which indicates that normal warranty is over, and now parts should start failing?

Happens. I think this is also to be blamed on Murphy: "Things will fail once warranty is over"

Seriously, you have kept detailed log of what you paid but is it possible to generate a log of what you would have paid if the warranty coverage was not available or stretchable?

Sudev the normal warranty got over, 1.5 months back.
In normal warranty, most parts which failed are covered under extended warranty too.
however. I have not kept track of the expenses.
I know approx charges only for major items
1. Injectors change - 20,000 approx (multiple)
2. ECU change - 30,000 approx
3. engine head change etc., - 100,000
4. Fuel pump sensors, common rail etc. - 90000
5. Radiator etc., - 7000
6. 4x4 hubs - 10000
7. Clutch - 12000
8. Bearing - 2000
9. Timing belt kit - 10000
10. Power window retro - 6000

So total around 300,000 under warranty.
My outgo has been 39000 approx for 54000kms, after todays outgo it will be around 43000

Where was the leak? The AC shop to which I had taken my a first couldnt correctly identify the leak area. Another shop found it ; wasted two days.

Tanveer, I doubt the tie rod ends would have been changed FOC even if it was within the original warranty period so don't fret too much about that one .

Please check AC is covered under extended warranty. It is clearly mentioned in tatamotors customer care website. Excepts AC refrigerant, pipes I think compressor should be covered in extended warranty.

Excerpts from website below

Quote:
Air conditioning: Compressor. condenser, evaporator, clutch magnet ( Exclusions: hoses and pipes, drive belts and routine recharging of refrigerant).

I am not much bothered about suspension components. but switches and AC!
Its expensive. I dunno what switch will give away next, and again I will end up spending money.
Every 2-3 weeks something is happening.

I also read that. Read "Hoses and pipes not covered". Since pipes need to be changed nothings covered.
