It could be true, however we need to know if there are any shear thinning behavior of the 5w-50 vs standard oil to pin the issue.

On the contrary, it is very difficult to find (or hear) when vtec activates in our R18 engines.
At the risk of digressing from the main issue under discussion (and at additional risk of speaking without knowing enough ), could it be possible that R18 iVTEC is different from K20Z iVTEC? I assume the current Civic 2.0 Si uses the K20Z (that's what the manual calls out, at least).

This could be same branding for two totally different species (think Zen and Zen Estilo).

Professor should be able to able to explain or indicate if it's a non-issue.

Yep the horns are quite loud, Happy with it.
Even the stock horns are quite good when compared with ANHC horns.
What was Honda thinking when they put stock horns to ANHC, they just sound so puny, I don't think even a cyclist would give way when in traffic.

BTW, The yellow calipers looks fabulous on the Silver Blue color.
Thanks. I recently changed the brake calipers colour to German red colour. Even they look awesome too.

I think you might be mistaken here, the wiper rubbers cost around INR 814 for both the wipers. If you want the wiper arm that will definitely be expensive.
I reckon, just changing the rubber should do the trick.

Yeah the stock horn sounds quite nice and are loud enough, but I am eager to hear the Hella's and Minda horn. My right horn has packed up so I need a replacement.

And those calipers look lovely!!! Can you post the pictures of red as well?

Have you actually seen the sway bar in the rear? I looked at some pics and was not able to identify it.

Even if they are different, when Vtec activates the sound should change. In your latest redline runs did you hear the typical vtec sound. To hear vtec sound here is a link, do have look at post #2

When I checked with Honda about estimates of 40k service last week, they said it will be around 16k Rs. Any idea why so much disparity?

Oh yes, I can hear the typical VTEC bark/snarl once the needle climbs above ~4.5/5k RPM.

By the way, your second post in that thread is pretty good too .

This may be a solution for the low rear end. Thick rubber bushes.

Coil Spring Adjusters : VFM Fix for the Honda Civic's (lousy) soft rear suspension?

After 10 seconds the red light blinks but at a slower rate. If you unlock the cat from inside the alarm sounds. There is no need to open the door.
Good observation, I must say.

You saved me a trip to the service station on account of this. I followed the set of steps as described above and the alarm triggered off the moment I unlocked the door from inside.

May be a good short term or temporary solution for the soft springs. The way it is installed looks pretty much like a "bandage" work for me and may have negative impact on the spring's longevity as some parts (coils) of the spring is stiffened while the rest left as stock. I would prefer a more robust long term solution of upgraded suspension system such as installing Bilstein or Tein.

Car is back after 40K kms service. Did almost 600kms drive this weekend.
All niggles (Suspension noise + steering noise ) have been fixed.
Pickup has increased after the injector cleaning.
Car is very much smooth now.
1st gear low pick up issue is almost gone now after the service.
Would rate Magnum Honda an Excellent for the fantastic service along with delivery on time (40K service within a day, I was told a 2 day affair earlier)

Yes total bill came to 7891 Rs for 40K service.
Breakup has been given in my previous post.
If honda reduces the Fuel stainer price(around 3.4K Rs), well then a Major service rate would be very very negligible.

Rightly said, My RHS wiper rubber was replaced, total dent ~500Rs for the blade including tax.

Sure will do it quite soon.

I was quoted 15K rs @ Whitefield Honda
Apart from the above mentioned service it is also including the brake pads replacements + drive shafts boots replacement if required.

Probably you are being quoted the same price for the above replacement included.
But my car didn't need a brake pads replacement so the bill came to ~8K Rs

Now guys Believe it or not .... It's a shocker
Mileage was a shocking 22.42kmpl in complete highway driving
Speed - constant 82 -84kmph
RPM - 2100 - 2200
Max speed 90kmph
Distance - 111.0kms
Fuel - 4.94kmpl (normal fuel)
Tyre pressure 32 - F 35 -R
Just myself n luggage.
No AC.
Time early morning
Full tank to full tank
This is not a calculation gone wrong, throughly checked for the air bubbles if in tank.
Previous best mileage was 20.43kmpl for the same driving condition, except it was night, and before the 40K service (Had a passenger here).
I'm open/ready if anybody wants to check my car's mileage.
My respect towards Civic has even grown more.

I believe you!
In my AT under similar conditions I have got max of 17+ kmpl.
(though 22.4 kmpl seems very high).

Great to hear that your 40k service has gone well. And amazing FE numbers!

As you rightly said, the disparity between the quote and actual is probably due the brake pads. Another component may be the synthetic oil which they insist. Since the brake pads on my Civic has been changed recently I guess the 40k service may come around 10-11k. I will change the AT oil and change engine oil to synthetic and add a TB cleaning to the list.

Eagerly looking forward for your experience on this regard. Some of us may come down to Bombay to get the coil adjuster fixed if this works out well.
