and even as it completes the six months - it has unfortunately completed only around 13600km. Dang - I hate the recession.

Should be heading out to binsar/nainital side on the May day weekend to reduce the backlog of touring.

Hita. Touring Bug gaya nahi abhi tak.
I still remember that when Hita was in Ahmedabad and went to the Mt. Abu on his caliber in heavy rain with fractured leg just for cup of chai.
For me he is one insane rider and driver.

lol yeah.

Those were the times. Life was cheap - now is the recession and jobs are cheap

Speaking of which, its around 14250 as of now - next weekend was to be a camping trip to dakpathar - had the election not caused my second saturday chutti to be cancelled!!!

So where has your car been of late, except to the carputer installer?

15600km down.

First problem. My wheel well plastic got loose and came off rubbing against the tyre - had suspected a potential suspension problem due to the car braking unevenly and badly. Stopped for a pee break and noticed it. Nothing some wire couldn't fix

Other than that, still painless. Pinch me

8.5 months, 21000km down, things have changed.
The VDi is now ICEd

I am surprised - nothing still to be changed - no warranty repairs - life's boring

Am doing well without changing the mudflap (550 bucks for that crap - no way!)

Yeah, a mishap happened this Sunday at Dhaula Kuan - took a speed breaker at like 40ish, and central AC console became loose - need to get it fixed. God bless the Maruti's el cheapo clips!!!

Target for the 12 months: 35000km in the first full year of ownership unless the Dussehra drive becomes a phoren vacation

Of course there are rattles now. Just IRVM for now.
Earlier hardly mild rattle of the IRVM. Now with the bass, it thumps

Waiting for the boot to rattle with the sub in there

PS: With ICE and speedo in three digits, rattles are the least of my concern! But on a serious note, its unavoidable over time for a touring Maruti car

22000 done, but just very very irritated with the rains. The whole car sounds like a tin can inside.

I know it is one, but can the rain noise be damped? cheaply?

Its MUCh lesser in a friend's ikon TDCi

Well the cheapest way would be earplugs!
Else use open-air headphones and play music that sends you!

Ah, so the magical figure was crossed yesterday - 10 months and 10 days - 25,000 km complete.

Painless and simple. A bump from a Honda City guy busy talking on the phone ate up a bit of the bumper paint, and gurgaon post-rain roads almost took out the low bumper.

In a pothole adjacent to a speed breaker at 10 kph, the bumper hit the breaker and came unhooked, breaking the foglamp mounting in the process. Can anyone say cheap plastics? btw like any good maruti, the fog lamp was fixed in 50 bucks, and the bumper was fixed by yours truly.

But yes, its been smooth sailing .. touchwood!
